Publishers continue to blame SCEE for missing European PSN releases
- Cash Guns Chaos
- Cuboid
- Lumines Supernova
- Penny Arcade Adventures: Episode One and Two
- PowerUp Forever
- SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation
- Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix
- Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars
Publishers are blaming Sony Computer Entertainment Europe for the delays. The Stores are still operated independently in each region, and SCEE has been strangely slow on releasing these titles. "Sony's process for getting titles on PSN varies in North America, Europe, Japan and the rest of Asia", said Joel De Young, COO of Hothead Games.
SCEE's response to BritishGaming.co.uk doesn't really inspire confidence. "This has been an ongoing issue and we're doing our best to resolve it." Wouldn't releasing these games be the best way to resolve these delays?

Dayum! thats a mighty long list... shit i really do feel sorry for the guys across the pond.. thats just friggin wack!
Sony you have to put a stop to this.. its not fair...this is comming from a guy in NY who hasnt even traveled over yonder...but still...i care :)
This message has been endorsed by our new Black President..Barack Obama...thank you!
Sylar @ Jan 21st 2009 12:37AM
Just wanna put that out there:
Y'all gotta stop with that "dayum" shit. 'Damn' is the word.
As for Sony, I think a universal store is the answer, with certain things differentiated from your region.
McWilly @ Jan 20th 2009 3:29PM
They'll just make another excuse about how there's other countries and languages to take into account. Or some bullsh*t like that. Pure laziness if you ask me. Get your sh*t in gear SCEE
Cesarcsrf @ Jan 20th 2009 3:34PM
i really don't care english is not a problem for me so i just buty it from US PS Store.. see problem resolved... the only thing that sucks is that eu got no Video Store...
td_rules @ Jan 20th 2009 3:35PM
non-english speaking countries drag the UK down, its frustrating.
there is no benefit to having separate sony regions, last time i checked it cost more to do that kind of thing amirite
Popfrogs @ Jan 20th 2009 4:21PM
I imagine they're separate thanks to licensing laws in different countries. They can't just release everything to everybody regardless of region.
Although that sure would be nice for consumers.
mint400 @ Jan 20th 2009 4:52PM
are you some sort of fascist? what's with your hate for the majority of the eu?
do you really think it would take months to translate a game like sfIIthdr? don't blame other countries for scee's incompetence.
Mahlberg @ Jan 20th 2009 5:28PM
No game in psn has ever had swedish speech/subs. I can't understand why they do not just release the games with only english.
Sure my writing is not the best, but i believe that almost all europeans are capable to understand english.
Mooseman721 @ Jan 21st 2009 10:45AM
you're not wrong!
C-Onor @ Jan 21st 2009 11:27AM
You're saying that as if the UK is better than the rest of Europe. pff.
Kgg @ Jan 20th 2009 3:42PM
Well it's not only UK that gets to suffer... it's not like they translate it into every fudgin (i cleaned it up for myself) language in Europe.... its just like 4 or 5 max isn't it? I live in Norway and i neither get nor need a translation into Norwegian, so gimme the game already... let those other countries wait
tom @ Jan 21st 2009 7:45AM
i recently saw a thread on the ps eu forums saying that hungary dont receive the psn even tho they r in eu!
Bahamut44-4 @ Jan 20th 2009 3:51PM
@PS3Fanboy
Lets not forget the trophy patches for Blast Factor and Echocrome being no shows, and we only just got the High Velocity Bolwing one, 3 months later.
Home has no game spaces, US has Uncharted and FarCry.
Oh and the video store, lets not forget that.
Put those in the article SCEE deserve as much cack for this as possible.
Vincent @ Jan 20th 2009 4:22PM
While we are at it, talk about all those PS1 Classics as well
SCEE SUCK @ Jan 20th 2009 4:40PM
And those PSN cards..
SCEE SUCK @ Jan 20th 2009 4:40PM
Also cant forget the fact we dont have a blog
SCEE SUCK @ Jan 20th 2009 4:40PM
And not forgetting that we dont have a video store either
SCEE SUCK @ Jan 20th 2009 4:42PM
Or a Video Store
SCEE SUCK @ Jan 20th 2009 4:43PM
Or a Video Store
Jerses @ Jan 20th 2009 5:51PM
at least you have a store. But even if my country doesnt have one.im happy to have a US account :D
Chimpanzee @ Jan 21st 2009 5:21AM
Actually, we do have the Echochrome trophy now. It took a while though. As does everything. It's so frustrating.
SCEE_SUCK @ Jan 20th 2009 3:53PM
Well you can blame it on translations but what is there to translate? There is only the title and description on the stores, thats it! Developers like Capcom incorporate the different languages into different versions etc, before they give the code to sony. So all sony have to do is put them on the fricking store! Im really pissed with the treatment we get over here it is a total joke and am beginning to wonder if the PS3 is worth having if you live in the Eu.
pjak @ Jan 20th 2009 4:59PM
What about the voiceover and on-screen text? Even trophy descriptions are translated...SCEE games (LBP, R&C, Uncharted, Heavenly Sword, etc) have at least 7 languages - English, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Portuguese and Dutch...To prepare all that takes time. I (for one) like to get games with English and Portuguese voiceovers - I am English, but am trying to improve my Portuguese - games are a great way to learn... Uncharted's crushing mode was SUPER in with Portuguese audio and text...
SCEE SUCK @ Jan 20th 2009 5:31PM
But its the devs who make the games therefore do the voice overs, subtitles and write the trophy descriptions! SCEE dont just decide to go into a developers code and translate it for them and add voice overs! Translation is no excuse and is no way of justifying the months of delays some of these titles get.
Even if they did translate the trophy descriptions it would take like an hour not 2 months!
Peter @ Jan 20th 2009 7:13PM
If you were translating something, would you hire five different translators at the same time or wait until one has finished before hiring another?
Kgg @ Jan 20th 2009 4:02PM
@Bahamut44-4
? i got the Echochrome trophies patch :S what i wanna see though is the trophy patch for Age of Booty
Bahamut44-4 @ Jan 20th 2009 4:14PM
Sure you didn't buy it from the US Store, because no-one else in the EU has it, myself included?
Kgg @ Jan 20th 2009 4:16PM
no... no i'm not sure XD cannot remember
jmyb17 @ Jan 20th 2009 3:56PM
maybe president obama will do something about this.
TVM @ Jan 20th 2009 4:05PM
Where are the PSN-Cards SCEE?
Michael @ Jan 20th 2009 4:09PM
I personally would like to get Savage Moon to the US store which I believe is available everywhere else. I think we can all agree we all lose when compared to Japan's store. :-)
Kabapu @ Jan 20th 2009 4:14PM
Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars comes out Jan. 22nd in Europe!

stormtrooper190 @ Apr 6th 2009 11:19AM
the strange thing is that these are the only games that im iterestid in. i live in europe but not the EU
Martin @ Jan 20th 2009 4:18PM
Streetfighter2 HD is no great loss really, SF4 is out soon and i would rather have that. Someone at SCEE needs a swift kick up the backside.
Red Baron Arcade is missing from the list for 09 PSN releases, it looks great fun and would like to know when this is coming out.
TVM @ Jan 20th 2009 4:25PM
Where is the video store SCEE?
Popfrogs @ Jan 20th 2009 4:25PM
Typical Europe from the people I've dealt with during work. Every time we need Europeans to do something (change network settings, set up a VPN, etc.) it gets wrapped up in bureaucracy and 30 people have to get involved with it after having 3 management meetings and watching 10 slideshows on how to proceed. The time difference and language barriers were the least of our problems.
At my old company, we'd just "do it" and document the process and changes.
*disclaimer: This isn't a dig against Europeans, just the way Europe prefers to do business.
TruthTeller @ Jan 20th 2009 9:31PM
As far as I am aware the UK psn store is handled by NTT, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone.
They are a Japanese Telecommunications company afaik. They actually have a very good network and setup here in the UK. (I went for an interview for them a few years back - failed the HR side passed the technical side go figure.. but they did tell me they manage the uk psn and store)
As far as work load here, yeah it can get very weird too many managers sitting around scratching their backsides and a lot of stupid decisions made by people that dont have a freaking clue..
elm @ Jan 20th 2009 4:54PM
Blaming the language is not the issue, many of the games already present in the american store contain the different languages without problems.
It is funny how everything works. Here in UK many people is complaining, but for instance, the Spanish store does not have games (completely in Spanish) like Magic Ball. It is the same region, who can explain that?
At the end of the day, I guess this is all solved by having different account in different stores...
Davito @ Jan 20th 2009 5:27PM
Is just a different market. They choose to have different marketing for the three regions. We just got the ps1 Street Fighter Alpha a month after you got Street fighter HD. The logic thing to do is to sell Alpha as much as possible before it gets outdated. Next step is the release SFHD before it gets outdated by SFIV.
Common sence, but it's a bitch and foolish.
Dividing it into regions gives Sony more power of control of the whole market, which is the entire world.
cloud66 @ Jan 20th 2009 6:37PM
japan psn store also has its problems...we got the video store but just full of japanese anime and only for rental,we miss a lot of games and patches.sure we get a lot of psone games, but most of all are japanese rpg.
i hate this marketing thing that makes them release different content on the store region oriented.
for disc games is the same,we never got dead space for example and got gtaIV six months after...
of course i have a us account and buy from there, but i am tired of buying psn tickets from ebay spending 60 dollars for a 50 ticket
1664 @ Jan 21st 2009 12:38AM
aye on the whole we brits are lazy sods, not as lazy as the french or spanish mind you, but still, with our tea drinking habits, daily visiits with the queen and talking to pakistani call centers we have alot going on, still even us brits expect more from scee, so ya, pull ya finger out ya ass and get some work done ya lazy gits

Hungary doesn't even have a PS Store and you can't pay with most Hungarian bank cards from ANY PS Store (except Hong-Kong). How about that guys? Well, if Sony doesn't want our money...
Hojken @ Jan 21st 2009 4:21AM
Dont't forget the leaked and broken version of Age of Booty which according to Capcom was the misstake of SCEE! Only to be followed by the patch which was released to fix the leaked version but instead broke the game totally so it couldn't be started at all. Once more the fault of SCEE according to Capcom!
SCEE test and release process must really suck!
