A
Final Fantasy game doing well? Who would've thunk it?! Square Enix's PSP-only
Final Fantasy brawler has continued its dominance over the Japanese game charts in January, with over 186k units sold in January. This bumps the total number of copies sold to 846k. It's clear that it will only take a few more months for the game to cross the million threshold.
The rest of the top 10 charts are dominated mostly by Nintendo games, with the odd exception of
Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G (yes, they're still buying that game), and
White Knight Chronicles for PS3. See the full list at
IGN.

I can't believe people buy a crappy game like Monster Hunter Freedom. That game sucks some really serious ass....
As for Dissidia, Square Enix + Final Fantasy = gg
McManus @ Feb 3rd 2009 6:05AM

It's a phrase sometimes used in American English for comedic effect.
Though he did spell "who'da" wrong.

OMG you too? If only Tidus had that face....

American gamers may think Final Fantasy is "fail", but I expect just as large a portion of Japanese gamers think American style shooters like Halo and Resistance are "fail". Sony didn't even bother releasing Killzone: Libreration in Japan, and if they did, it probably wouldn't even make the top 50 chart. Not one American style shooter appears in the PS2's top 50!
LegendaryRedass @ Feb 3rd 2009 10:35AM
American gamers may think Final Fantasy is "fail"? I know this is a flame, but I cannot resist. You have no idea what you are talking about. By the way, how many shooters were even developed for the ps2? Very few. And only 3 decent ones. Killzone, Black and a port of Half Life. Everyone knows that most Japanese people get motion sickness from shooters, thats why a lot of them don't play them. Also, there are way more Final Fantasy fans in the US than shooter fans in Japan. That's common knowledge.

Poised to sell 1 million units and beyond? At $40 a pop, that'll put sales at over 40 million dollars. I'll go out on a limb, here, and suggest a decent profit will be had.
Gee, this piracy stuff is really hurting the PSP.
(As if.)

I'm studying in Japan at the moment and got this for my birthday,
The nostalgic music on each characters story mode is great and the gameplay so far is flawless.

Man... all I really want is a confirmed US release date, I'm getting tired of literally searching for news, and not just on this game, there are others too... I hate it when the don't announe release dates.
