GameTrailers TV coming to PlayStation Network
Geoff Keighley's coming to the PlayStation Network. His Spike TV show, GameTrailers TV, will be making regular appearances on the PSN Video Store. The show, which airs weekly, is similar to Qore, and provides viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the development of some popular games. We're assuming the show will cost the same it does on the Xbox Live Marketplace counterpart, so expect SD episodes to run $2 an episode, while HD episodes will cost $3. Confirmed: SD episodes cost $2 an episode.
The, uh, trailer for GameTrailers TV is after the break.

Can someone tell why people would pay for this when it is free on TV and the internet?
James @ Feb 13th 2009 10:26AM
Or right on this PS3 browser?
Khaled @ Feb 13th 2009 10:39AM
Where can I watch it on the internet?
Jimmy @ Feb 13th 2009 10:40AM
http://www.gametrailers.com
Godmars @ Feb 13th 2009 1:15PM
You can get it to run fully on your PS3? It starts breaking up towards the end, stops running, on my PC.
Wish they just make it one file instead of several.
Gemini Ace @ Feb 13th 2009 12:20PM
That's exactly what I was going to ask. Who pays for this stuff?
Lieutenant @ Feb 13th 2009 1:40PM
Came here to post exactly that. It's also on the iTunes store. Which makes even less sense.
I guess those versions aren't as compressed as the Gametrailers "HD"
Dan Rabot @ Feb 13th 2009 10:25AM
Take it this isn't coming to the UK and Europe....
We NEED that bloody video service!
Orex @ Feb 13th 2009 10:45AM
I was just about to post a similar comment, im not surprised if this doesnt come to the UK, wheres the PSN magizine thing they promised????
Dan Rabot @ Feb 13th 2009 10:59AM
That too! - I'm properly jealous of Quore, i want our magazine thing!
PlayTV is cool, more "handy" than awesome, but the videos service would change the face of playstation in the UK and Europe.
Wasn't there a music video service they promised us before too? I'm sure i remember a video with some Maximo park in it.... that would be a step in the right direction. They need to utilise the PS3's media capabilities way better...
nakedatthecomp @ Feb 13th 2009 3:39PM
we don't get it in canada either :(
Lars @ Feb 13th 2009 10:00PM
Hey, you guys got Movement which is not only free, but awesome.
Dan Rabot @ Feb 16th 2009 4:01AM
Movement? - Meh.
Tigersmith @ Feb 13th 2009 11:47AM
you can just use the PS3 browser to stream this, i have done it before
Jimmy @ Feb 13th 2009 10:40AM
I won't get it. 1, because it's not available in Europe and 2, it's free on TV and internet.
jj @ Feb 13th 2009 10:41AM
Laughable! As if paying for Qore (which even at season pass price is like half the price of Live service for a year, which includes tons of free videos) there's no way I'm paying for something I can't be bothered to set up a PVR recording for.
Vincent @ Feb 13th 2009 10:44AM
lol they are charging for that? Now who is stupid enough to pay for it? :|
Meghterb @ Feb 13th 2009 10:50AM
Meh they only chose GameTrailers, the website that underrated most of PS3 games.
Marquis @ Feb 13th 2009 10:47AM
Pay to download GTTV episodes? No thanks. I'll just stick to downloading the episodes for FREE from GT themselves. Nice try anyway Sony. LOL
jax sedrin @ Feb 13th 2009 10:48AM
"Trailer for GameTrailers TV"?
Man, they were *this* close to creating a paradox and destroying the universe.
ElStefio @ Feb 13th 2009 6:48PM
Just hope that GameTrailers never make a game. And start releasing trailers for said game.
Mattchewie @ Feb 13th 2009 11:06AM
They had me till they said "it will cost".....
rgoff31 @ Feb 13th 2009 11:07AM
I am not a fan of the PS3 Video service. This is just one more reason.
I'll just keep recording it on my PCtivo and watch it on my PS3.
jrlcgmx @ Feb 13th 2009 11:13AM
Not gonna use this. I only went to gametrailers for the videos. I don't care about the rest. Certainly not gonna give my money to xbox lovers.

INSTEAD OF ASSUMING IT COSTS MONEY JOYSTIQ, go down to the actual store and check, it doesn't cost money.
Andrew Yoon @ Feb 13th 2009 5:13PM
Just checked now. SD episodes cost $2. We were right.
microshocky @ Feb 13th 2009 9:26PM
Oh, I'm really sorry for raging, im sorry, i didnt know they'd be so stupid to charge for free content
matty @ Feb 14th 2009 4:21PM
big time lols
Devin @ Feb 13th 2009 12:33PM
Another great reason why I love my PS3. I can watch this for FREE on my web browser vs. having to pay $ for it on 360 in order to watch it.
Nobledevil @ Feb 13th 2009 2:52PM
I'll just watch it on my PC, thank you.
Though I have to say, Gametrailers on the PS3s browser is awesome. I really like downloading the HD WMV videos directly to my hard drive directly if I see some cool new video or trailer.
magicfett @ Feb 13th 2009 3:03PM
I wouldn't watch it for free much less pay for it but good job on the assumption Joystiq next you will be telling us you assume we have to pay yearly to play online.
Andrew Yoon @ Feb 13th 2009 5:17PM
? It costs money. Go to the Store.
KinjiroSSD @ Feb 13th 2009 5:33PM
Isn't this the site that shits on PS3 versions of games with bad comparison vidoes as well as that Grid comparsion video they claimed the 360 version had better physics but ppl spotted PS3 controller X, Square, etc on both vids?
John @ Feb 14th 2009 12:55PM
Well, actually its not free, not even in the tv...u have to pay the cable right? u know dish and all that stuff...
Urza @ Feb 15th 2009 3:26PM
Aren't they free on the 360?
CopaceticOpus @ Feb 16th 2009 11:55AM
I'd be happy to pay to watch TV shows on the PS3. They just need to get the pricing right. How about 20 cents for SD, 25 cents for HD?
