Logitech presents in-game Gran Turismo 5 Prologue challenge

Players of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue are being asked to "take the Logitech Challenge." It may sound like a soft drink marketing gimmick from the '80s, but it's actually a three-week, in-game competition that could net you some sweet Logitech gaming gear.
Beginning tomorrow, March 18, the Logitech Challenge is a series of three lap time based events set on specific courses with an equally specific car selection to choose from. At the end of each week, Logitech will record the top three lap times; third place will win a Logitech Driving Force Wireless wheel and V470 Cordless Laser Mouse; second place will receive the wheel and a set of Logitech Z-5 speakers; come in first and you'll get the wheel, mouse and Logitech Audio Hub speakers.
Additionally, five random participants from each week will be selected to receive Driving Force Wireless wheels. Full contest rules can be found here; Logitech is extending a 10% offer at its online store for the duration on the event -- type in coupon code "challenge 09".

Why are they still promoting this old game? Is it because there is no other driving game worthy of the Logitech controllers? I would be happy if they update the online features so I can race my friends easily. The current one is crap!

Errhm, the Logitech Driving Force GT isn't wireless... I have one...
Half the time the PS3 doesn't recognize it, and when it does, the PS button doesn't work on the wheel, but aside from that it connects VIA USB, uses a cable to connect the pedals to the steering wheel, and then has a cable to connect the wheel to the wall outlet.
It's anything BUT wireless, it's a royal pain in the arse actually.

Second that. So many wires that its a pain in the arse if you leave it set up, so you always pack it away after use, and then of course its a pain in the arse to get it out again. Almost seems not worth the bother.
My PS button doesn't work sometimes either. It seems you have to disconnect it from the PS3 and then reconnect it to get it up and running properly. Very annoying.
Must say though, the wheel is absolutely perfect for driving in Midnight Club LA.

I'm glad Polyphony is taking their time releasing GT5. With the extra months in composition, I know it'll be that much better when it arrives.

Stop moaning and play the game, it's awesome. GT has never been great because of the number of cars or tracks, it's the pure driving that gets you going. If you want laps or tracks go and play burnout or some other 2 bit driver (gotham).

Logitech apparently does have a wireless wheel now (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/gaming/playstation_3/wheels/devices/4565&cl=us,en?WT.mc_id=prms_logitech_driving-force-wireles) which is different from the Driving Force GT.
i agree with you that all those wires can be annoying; which makes the wireless sound pretty enticing. Anyone want to buy a used DF GT? I'm not sure what's up with yours, but I've never had a problem with mine. As a matter of fact I love mine, regardless of the wires.
Looks like I'll have to give KZ2 a break and fire up GT. Pretty safe bet I won't be breaking any records though. Some people are sick on that game.
