Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 coming this fall, new info March 25

We knew it was coming -- Tecmo has just made official Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 (though our photochopped "logo" is admitedly far from legit). According to a release issued by the publisher, the game is set to hit North America and Japan this fall, with a European debut to follow.
More details on the spruced-up PS3 version of Team Ninja's befitting ninja action game are coming next Wednesday, March 24. Joystiq will be on-hand at the Sigma sequel's Game Developers Conference unveiling, being held at the Metreon's soon-to-be-closed PlayStation Store in San Francisco, CA.

As long as they keep the DIFFICULTY then I'm all about it. Looks like I'm getting rid of my 360 version of NG2....lol

I'm excited about NG2 Sigma, but I'm really thinking Ninja Blade on Xbox is going to be my ninja game for 2009
JuanDHexen @ Mar 18th 2009 10:26PM
is ninja gaiden any good? the last ninja game I've played was shinobi III which was great.

I'm all for another Nija Gaiden Sigma game - but hopefully the difficulty will not be ridicously difficult that the game becomes simply an exercise in frustration.
I can't tell you how many friends of mine who have played the first version simply threw their controllers at the wall at the half way point of the game and stopped playing it on account of the gameplay.
Difficulty that's intelligent is what I want - not difficulty that the only way you beat it is through sheer dumb luck after hours, if not months, of frustration.

:Insert Fanboyism Here:
It seems both consoles are losing their fair share of exclusives, but 360 has a big brother that steals their 'Main' exclusives. PC. Microsoft made a good move by trying to stop Fable 2,GoW2, Halo3 from hitting PC, considering the last generations ended up on PC and stole some limelight.
The only reasons I didn't bother getting a 360;
1)Fail rate.
2)Exclusives I wanted.
3)360 exclusives end up on PS3 beefed up
4)360 exclusives end up on PC.
5)$50/year for the lifespan? $500 later, that's a lot of games you could buy and play online for free in those years.

That's the day the new Jim Jones album comes out so I'm gonna have to keep my priorities straight ;)
jeff @ Mar 19th 2009 1:50AM
Wait, was'nt Ninja Gaiden 2 published by Microsoft?
{@} @ Mar 19th 2009 3:42AM
Yeah, that's right. Does this mean EA can just put out an enhanced version of Mass Effect for the PS3 now? Can we expect that next?
ZenTzen @ Mar 19th 2009 5:57AM
Being the publisher doesnt mean that they own the ip
Jeff @ Mar 19th 2009 6:35AM
Okay, not the ip, but doesn't it mean they own "that" game?
ZenTzen @ Mar 19th 2009 7:18AM
No they dont own "that" game, IP is the game, owning the ip means owning the game, so if microsoft owned the ip the game couldnt be released in another console, its the same thing that happened with FFVII, VIII and a couple of other final fantasys, SONY published the games, but the ownership of said games still lie with Square
Another example is Halo, Microsoft owns the ip so they can decide what to do with the halo franchise

This is Great! news. I have been waiting for this news since I found out there was a NG2 last year.
Haohmaru @ Mar 19th 2009 12:20PM
The game should be subtitled thusly:
Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2: A Total Loss of Face for Everyone Involved
Day 1!!
Beagles @ Mar 19th 2009 1:01PM

Game_playa @ Mar 19th 2009 4:11PM
If you want to save some species then stop spamming and turn off your computer. That way you want be causing trouble AND be saving some trees or something by not wasting electricity
Honch @ Mar 19th 2009 4:42PM
I thought MS bought out the publishing to do just that...prevent it from coming to other consoles?? oh well guess it's another reason to rejoice that i can play NGS2 on my PS3 without succumbing to buying a 360
