Famitsu: Armored Core 3 coming to PSP

Fans of bulky mechs and slim handhelds will likely find this bit of news to be the highlight of their day: From Software is porting Armored Core 3 onto the PSP, according to Famitsu. A scan (via PSPHyper) shows the 2002 PS2 title is slated for a July 30 release on PSP and will include some extra goodies, including Ad Hoc multiplayer (and even Ad Hoc Party support).

But, dare we ask what the point is? There have been countless Armored Core games that have released since then, so why not just port one of those? Or, here's a novel idea: what about a new game? We hear PSP owners love those things.

I dont think in japan only..anyway its from ps2...year 2002 title...mostly psp title we can play

I don't care about Armor Core, I just beat the FOUR HORNS quest in MHF after two and a half years!!!!!!
I did it solo style. It took every bit of my breath away kicking the shit out of them character crippling, screaming Diablos but I did it. I was doing some particle physics, took a break and booya baby! Now I'm HR2.

Hey, I got a better idea. Why don't they make more games for the PS2 (or... PS3,) instead and bring back the radiators and cannons that bipeds have to kneel to use? Man, those games were the FUCKIN' best! I love old Armored Core...

im stoked. theres no good AC game on psp. formula front is great and all, but its not mission driven. bring on the mech games!

Seeing as how it's probably going to be released in Japan, you ought to tell that to everyone who bought Monster Hunter 2G/Freedom Unite over the previous iteration...

why not armored core 4? T_T

tactical sluggish (although not too sluggish..ac3 is actually fast..just not too fast..only the AI can be too fast here) mech games are nice but..brainless blasting of everything and your buddy on the go mech games are found to be more fun...imo...
