Create a look-a-like Home avatar and win Star Trek furniture

As part of Silverscreen's marketing campaign for the Star Trek movie in Home in Europe, you have the opportunity to win some Star Trek goodies. All you have to do is create a look-a-like for one of three main characters, Kirk, Uhura or Sulu, using the in-Home character customization features. You can find free Starfleet uniforms in the Threads store in the shopping centre. Check after the break for full competition entry instructions.

The competition closes this Friday, May 1 and one winner for each character will be chosen on May 8 -- they'll be revealed via the Silverscreen blog and the official SCEE forums. Winners will receive an exclusive in-game item for their Home apartment and a special party will also take place in Home on May 8, in celebration of the launch of the film. All attendees wearing Starfleet uniforms will have the opportunity to win "exclusive Star Trek gifts."

To take part in this competition, simply create an avatar that looks like either Kirk, Uhura or Sulu. Then take three off-screen photos: one close-up headshot, one close-up profile and one full-length body shot. These photos will need to be uploaded to flickr, tagged "Star Trek Avatar Contest" and submitted to the appropriate flickr group with your PSN ID clearly in the description. Good luck!

Do you have to buy the Star Trek threads? That would kind of suck... not allowed to require purchase for a contest entry, are you?

Heh, sorry... I somehow missed the "free" part of that sentence. It must be since I come from a society where free is usually always in all caps and bold...

It's pretty hard to create a unique looking face in Home, they all have the same generic look to them. I wonder how successful these look-a-likes are going to be. I find it hard to believe the starfleet uniforms will be free, I bet the only free one is that t-shirt.
