It looks like PlayStation Home is set to receive another ambitious update. No, we're not talking about the latest expansion of the Xi ARG. "StageSet" is an upcoming Home Space that allows you and other Home users to create short films on a virtual stage. You can operate the camera, set the lighting, and even stand in front of a green screen and add your own special effects. Best of all, you won't have to wait long for the new Space to arrive -- it'll be added to PlayStation Home this week.
While the premise is certainly unique, it will take some deft execution to make it intuitive and, most importantly, fun. We can't wait to give it a test drive soon. To check out more videos of StageSet in action, have a look at AlphaZone4.
Rooster Teeth got away with like 4 years of Red Vs Blue with nothing more than Spartans that gun butt, crouch and shoot... I think someone can work with home avatars with enough imagination.
the thing I hate most about alot of Home games is that you have to wait in line and hope you can get in a game. Like bowling and pool. Why can't hey make it that no matter whos playing the game you can walk up and start a new game with others that are waiting?
I have never had a problem when it comes to waiting in line. I rarely get caught in lines, but when I do, I talk to others around me.
I like the realism that you get when waiting in line for bowling; you get to talk to others in the meantime. But I would imagine that waiting ages for something else would be tedious and annoying.
I had to wait 45 minutes to find a poker table in the EA space. And then the game was so terribly slow. Blinds are to small and they increase at such a slow pace. Biggest waste of time. They need to increase the number of tables and increase blinds. No one should have to wait to play this for more than 5 minutes.
Home spaces have more than one instance, if all the slots are clogged up trying leaving and reentering to find a new version of the space that might have more room.
Love it or hate it, it makes some decent cash. It might be Sony's cash-cow to keep them from downsizing or going under to keep these games coming out until the PS3 picks up speed.

Hmmm... I see a Home-hosted talk show/video podcast potential that could use the StageSet as a studio.

As far as I know, no. But it's always possible that it's a feature that hasn't been talked about.

Too bad the Home Avatars are dull and emotionless....Like manikins...

They also made a mini-series using The Sims, which I don't believe those avatars had much emotion either.

Sounds really fun, hopefully it runs smooth and you don't have to wait for others to finish before you use it.

It's more realistic, that's the only reason I can think of.
If that's good or bad isn't anything I would like to discuss, since I'm quite sure that many people actually like it while many others dislike it.

talking to others is cool and all but sometimes I just want to play. I dont want to have to wait 20 min to play a game.
