European inFamous special edition unearthed

Electronic Theatre is reporting that Europe will be receiving a special limited edition of inFamous, courtesy of various independent retailers such as ShopTo. At the moment, the big retailers such as Play and GAME are offering only the normal edition, with Play advertising entry into the Uncharted 2 multiplayer beta as an exclusive extra.

The speciai edition will contain "a set of limited edition postcards, as well as a comic book based on the game." There will also be a redemption code for a special in-game power. We suspect it's probably those Gigawatt Blades that are available as a pre-order bonus in the US. Judging from the image above, the cover art seems to be a new, more comic-bookish design.

A tempting package, considering it's available at the same price as the normal version. But is it worth missing out on the Uncharted 2 beta for? Tough call ...

Looks good, I don't usually get special editions, and I probably won't be getting this one either. Still looks cool for those that do buy them.

I don't either. The only time I think I'll buy a special edition is when God of War III comes out.

Amazon has home costume (meh) and $53 price w/ free (slow) shipping, Gamestop i can pick up on release day and get those blades.
i love amazon, hate gamestop.
Get Blades, Day 1 for $60+tax?
Get Costume Day 2 or 3 for $53ish

I wish i knew about this weapon! Is it worth it? does it make it too easy? do you have it from the start?

Is that code exlusive to play.com just in europe, since that is a europe only store? Or is it everywhere here in the US? Please say everywhere... and in the SE...

Is this weapon exclusive to this version, or will everyone be able to unlock at the end of the game? or will it just be a DLC in the future.

The Gigawatt Blades weapon is a downloadable weapon add-on via the PSN and cannot be gotten in-game.

And it's interesting that you mention the Uncharted 2 beta, because New Zealand gamers are getting access to it when they preorder inFamous so I'm betting Europe will too (since SCE Europe is the central hub for SCE in the PAL territories.)
