Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days coming to PSP this year
While the game's trailer specifically states a Summer release, the press release says the game will release in the Fall. Either way, you'll be able to play the game this year. Keen observers will see a PlayStation Network icon at the end of the trailer -- could this title be digitally distributed?

"could this title be digitally distributed?"
IT BETTER FUCKING -NOT- BE.
Hyperfludd @ May 8th 2009 1:21AM
Or it could be both. Just throwing it out there.
Scuffles @ May 8th 2009 10:34AM
Yeah I'm 150% with Kia on this one I'm already not getting patapon2 because I want a physical release(possibly importing the EU ver just for a UMD)....... They best not be messing with My Disgaea or so help me the PSP is dead to me.....
SecretAgentHam @ May 8th 2009 11:54AM
i'm the kind of person who perfers to have more than one game on him at a time. if that means buying a 30-40 dollar 8gig memory card to store ~6 games on me at once then so be it. yes i want my rpg, but want my street fighter too.
Quattro @ May 8th 2009 3:22PM
The only games that I put on my memory stick are the ones I download for free and don't really care about. When I really want a PSP game, like say when Final Fantasy Tactics came out, I'm going to go out and buy it, simply because I want the slick case and disc and the instruction manual.
Kia @ May 8th 2009 11:15PM
God, voted down for not liking digital distribution. You guys are so lame. xD
Thunderbird @ May 9th 2009 5:54PM
It's probably means there will be downloadable content.
homeboi999 @ May 8th 2009 1:21AM
holy moly mother of elmo

Cosmo @ May 8th 2009 1:42AM

Harjus @ May 8th 2009 1:45AM

Vexorg @ May 8th 2009 1:51AM
Great... There's another 250 hours I can write off.
Twist @ May 8th 2009 2:45AM
Oh jeez. Must resist getting a PSP!!!!!!!! Must resist!!!!!!
I figure the answer to this is no but since I don't have a PS3 and I haven't really been paying attention that much: do the digitally released PSP games play on the PS3? If not they need to get that stuff hooked up ASAP because that would be a killer app IMHO (well nice for like the 3 or 4 PSP games that I am actually interested in).
hankjmatt @ May 9th 2009 8:46AM
thx

I seriously thought by the thumbnail that this was a joke trailer at first, until I remembered that CONQUER THE WORLD OF LEVEL GRINDING is a thing that sounds good to Disgaea fans.
In my day level grinding was tedious and boring and undesirable. Kids these days! You young wippersnappers...
shadowpal2 @ May 8th 2009 8:51AM
This trailer just completely told me that I have to get the Disgaea games. I heard they made a remake for Disgaea 1 for PSP...and now this!!! PERFECT TIMING, can't wait to get this!
Mike @ May 8th 2009 9:47AM
The game has downloadable content, which is probably why the playstation network logo is there.
Juan @ May 8th 2009 10:47AM
All of your long integers belong to the hit points in Disgaea.
fantastic dan @ May 8th 2009 10:49AM
"conquer the world of level grinding"
is that a joke? who on earth finds that fun?
SecretAgentHam @ May 8th 2009 11:49AM
call me crazy but... i find that one of the best aspects of a RPG. you work hard to build your characters up then when you fight tough enemies, you can take care of them without worrying. it feels like an awesome reward for all the hours you put into your characters. it also develops more of an attachment to the characters in the game because you feel like you "grew up with them."
but then again, call me crazy...
Descender @ May 8th 2009 12:03PM
Iunno, I kind of agree. There's something ridiculously satisfying as seeing your level have four digits, and all the damage you're dishing out be 6-8 digit numbers...
fantastic dan @ May 8th 2009 12:10PM
it's just that 'level grinding' implies something laborious and unrewarding. which is the problem i have with the majority of jrpg's
Cosmo @ May 8th 2009 1:12PM
I totally agree with you. I wouldn't mind too much if I had more free time, maybe if I had immortality, I'd level grind till the end of time. : D
Susumu @ May 8th 2009 1:43PM
You've obviously never played Disgaea.
Susumu @ May 8th 2009 1:50PM
Just watched the trailer. Holy shit there is so much new stuff. Seriously, magichanging with two monsters?
I haven't seen like half of those skills (or more) and none of them were mentioned in the guide book.
JUST TAKE MY MONEY NIS
Nugent @ May 8th 2009 1:44PM
I can't wait for this game. I bought Disgaea 2 from a used bin for the PS2... but can't quite stomach the aged graphics on my big screen HDTV so I can't play it for more than a bit at a time. But I'm sure it'll look great on the tiny PSP screen.
Moptimus Slime (Ziggy played Guitar Hero, but not Smash Hits) @ May 8th 2009 4:45PM
Hmmmmmmm, my DS backlog better hurry the fuck up so I can get a PSP
TJF588 @ May 8th 2009 6:05PM
"Conquer the world of Level Grinding!"
What a still-frame for the player to be set at.
Darklighter @ May 9th 2009 10:02AM
I can't wait for this game. If however it does not get an actual release I wont get it. Hopefully if it does not get a real release on PSP it will get one on DS (like the first one) and I will get THAT version.
Also. . . Importing sucks. I imported Ratchet and Clank Future: Quest For Booty from New Zealand and it was a pain in the ass.
Grimmjawtiger @ May 9th 2009 11:01PM
At about 1:55 in, know someone else must've caught a glimpse of what looks like the power rangers. Maybe its my ignorance of the Disgaea series or something...
Xphere @ May 10th 2009 5:22PM
they are the Prism Rangers!! XD
