Lunar: Harmony of the Silver Star may get US release via XSEED

The first screens of the PSP remake of Lunar look very good. The sprites have been redrawn, but the lovingly detailed backgrounds really demand the most attention. Siliconera has more screens of the PSP remake, and we very much approve. While it seems likely a US publisher will bring over the RPG to the games-starved masses on this side of the Pacific, Siliconera notes that "XSEED might be picking this up for North America."

We hope some publisher gets on board supporting this project. We want a localized version as soon as possible.

I prefer the Working Designs releases of the Lunar games (you know Lunar 2 will most likely pop up on the PSP as well), because of the box and all the extras.

I agree though. Enough remakes getting on to the PSP already.

Personally, I'm happy to see it. Lunar 1 and 2 were some of my favorite RPGs.

That and I'm sick of all the garbage-3D that companies are putting out for handheld games. If you can make the game look better by using sprites, I think you owe it to the audience to do so instead of some crappy 3D just for the sake of 3D graphics.

I would complain about all the remakes on PSP, but (a) this is an awesome game, and (b) I want to play it, but don't want to pay an obscene amount of money for it.

Here's hoping we get Lunar and Lunar 2. Please. Please please please.

I didn't even know this was being made. Lunar is one of my favorite RPGs ever, but I've only played it twice on PS1. If I can play an updates version that would be great.

Not bad at all.
I especially like those old straight-forward RPGs, unlike the newer ones who are full of meaningless side-quests (like catching colored birds for no particular reason).

I was hating the idea of a straight, effortless port of the PSOne version + just some new videos (Ala Persona and FF Tactics) but this one looks really fresh. I mean, the sprites are new, the backgrounds and the portraits too... that's just sweet. I hope it gets localized because Lunar is just one of those RPGs you fall in love with.
