NPD: Killzone 2 deploys 58K copies in April
Guerrilla Games' FPS Killzone 2 passed the one million milestone a little while back, but it doesn't seem to be content with that. No, in fact, it's still selling copies, as the NPD numbers from April show the game unloaded 58,000 more units onto US soil, Gamasutra reports. This brings the US total for the game up to 677,000 copies, or about 4,739,000,000 dead Helghan.

Sorry all i read was "Valor Citation Medal Trophy Just Got Harder!"
Gordogg24p @ May 19th 2009 1:26PM
They aren't necessarily going to be harder. More people means more places will count as the top 1% and everything. So just pray that all these new copies go to people who suck online, and it will be easy.
rohan @ May 19th 2009 1:16PM
But i still manage to live after the ISA assault, I am sorry but this site shows so much hate towards my people!
My brothers join me for an attack on people these new ISA recruits!

il_duce620 @ May 19th 2009 1:16PM
It's a great game and I intend to play it well into the summer. Keep those copies selling!
Heavytoka @ May 19th 2009 1:18PM
I am not surprised, Killzone 2 is Awesome!
B @ May 19th 2009 3:31PM
I doubt that. Just look at Resistance. It's a more relevant, and popular IP and didn't push any units at all.
shase @ May 19th 2009 1:23PM
Isnt this sale figure pathetic? 360's gow etc. done better.
John @ May 19th 2009 1:24PM
gtfo troll.
il_duce620 @ May 19th 2009 1:35PM
Your terrible use of grammar is pathetic.
AmanteDuck @ May 19th 2009 1:49PM
Odd. An obvious troll with a Patapon icon. Are you confused sir shase?
shase @ May 19th 2009 2:43PM
I own the game but I am just saying with all the hype and development period into this game but not great sales to back it up. I actually hate GOW. this game probably deserved better sales than what it is doing now.
Hyams @ May 19th 2009 2:51PM
If it'd released in the Christmas period it'd have done a lot better. Not Gears of War good, but still better than this.
ryan_villa @ May 19th 2009 1:24PM
It is a quality game I just wish more of mates played it; none of them do so I have to play COD 4 with them which just isnt as good.
rohan @ May 19th 2009 1:36PM
My brothers of Helghan, join me in my fight and we shall repeal the ISA scum!
Seth @ May 19th 2009 1:53PM
Shame the game didn't sell more because it definitely deserved it. Where are all the ps3 users? I know we have more than that. I hope the game was successful for Sony, and I hope it reaches a million in the US someday.
David @ May 19th 2009 2:14PM
You know, I put over 20 hours of gameplay into the multiplayer and I really wanted to like it, but I really just hate this game.
Honestly, COD 4 does so many things better that Killzone just seems to discard. I feel like everyone is getting so caught up on the graphics that they don't realize the core gameplay really is not that well done. How can people honestly like the tied kills and lack sloppy controls. I really don't get it
Kodros @ May 19th 2009 2:33PM
There's nothing to get, you just don't like the game...others do. I'll take sloppy controls over the sloppy Team Deathmatch that CoD4 has. Not having a static location to spawn at is extremely retarded. You spend the whole map just following your teammates who are running around in a circle trying to find the other team. Meanwhile, half of the enemy team could be spawning right behind you (or in some cases, on top of you).
Kola @ May 21st 2009 2:54PM
soooo in short you made it to general, didn't realize medals are more important than rank, couldn't quite figure out why you never broke the 100 point mark in a match and basically suck.
Hyams @ May 19th 2009 2:52PM
You spent over 20 hours playing a game you hate?
... are you a masochist?
Levi @ May 19th 2009 3:13PM
David, while I don't hate the game, I agree with you. I think the graphics and immersion of the game are fantastic and maybe people are replacing actual fun with enjoyment of the aesthetics. Personally, I found too many things wrong with the multiplayer to really enjoy it, but I too put over 20 hours in. It must be the addiction factor of leveling up and getting medals. Once I got to general though, I pretty much just stopped.
rohan @ May 19th 2009 2:14PM
i just notice a typo in the article "or about 4,739,000,000 dead Helghan" Helghan is the name of the planet, Helghast is the name of the people......
Hyams @ May 19th 2009 2:53PM
Shame it didn't do better. Such a good game deserves to be played by more people.
(Having said that, I still haven't bought a copy myself...)
Khaled @ May 19th 2009 6:54PM
Shame on you!!!
Nick @ May 19th 2009 3:51PM
These sales are very disappointing. Not even a million units sold in the U.S? It's a fantastic game and it should have sold a lot more. Sony really dropped the ball when marketing this one. In fact, do the SCE execs have their thumbs up their asses? R2 sold relatively poorly, Motorstorm and Motorstorm 2 sold well but they can't compare with the other companies' IPs. Great games but few sales to show for their greatness.
karlwulfekote @ May 19th 2009 4:45PM
The game is fantastic. By far the best FPS this generation. When I see the screens for Modern Warfare2, they look like a joke in comparison. COD 3 looked amazing when it first came out, but since they continue to spout out games every year, I am less and less impressed.
Carlos @ May 19th 2009 4:58PM
As a Helghan-American, I was offended by your mislabeling of my people.
Carlos @ May 19th 2009 4:59PM
uhmmm Helghast-American
ryking19 @ May 19th 2009 5:21PM
I love this game and especially the Multiplayer. This has been the funnest Multi I've played in a while.
After reading the story line though, I feel like the Helghast are actually the good guys, and the ISA are the bad guys.
I for one am a Helghast fan.
Levi @ May 19th 2009 7:46PM
but the whole thing was because they were tyrannical monsters with their blockades! They made everyone pay an insane toll between planets, and crazy taxes on trade! They were evil!! The ISA totally deserved to take em down!
:D
KinjiroSSD @ May 19th 2009 5:31PM
I love Killzone 2 and all but I don't think I would advertise that it only sold 58k in america for april. No wonder 3rd party devs won't go exclusive on ps3. So sad......
Popfrogs @ May 20th 2009 12:45AM
Selling 2,000 copies per day during a crushing recession isn't too shabby. This is the off-season for games and consoles.
Twinturbo120 @ May 19th 2009 9:53PM
I agree with kinjiroSSD KZ2 needs more advertising!
