European PSN releases for May 21

It's true, we liked inFamous quite a lot, but you don't have to take our word for it -- you can go ahead and grab the demo off the European PlayStation store right now. If that doesn't tickle your fancy, there are four other demos for you to try out instead. No wonder this update took so long to arrive! There's also a PS1 game in the form of Creatures 3, a full PSP game and, as usual, a boat-load of DLC including the fairly large LittleBigPlanet Monsters pack.

Ah Very good, much obliged.
Im going to guess beating it as a hero will be harder than as inFamous.
so i guess i'll beat it as a Hero on Medium First, then as inFamous on Hard.
Copland @ May 21st 2009 2:28PM
I wonder why the language is in French and not in English :(

That's one hell of a random PSone Classic to release, considering Metal Gear Solid and Resident Evil were rated by the ESRB recently. Where's our Silent Hill, Crash Bandicoot 2 and Spyro trilogy?
mvp576 @ May 21st 2009 5:59PM
Im pretty sure there just warming up for future ps1 titles.
MACZ_2004 @ May 21st 2009 3:54PM
Any way i can get this from the American PSN?!? i want to play it!
Exemplar @ May 21st 2009 3:59PM
This demo is the best fun I've had in ages! The sense of freedom and power you get in this game is addictive.. The lightning scatter-grenades are a hoot, and you have to try shockwaving an enemy off the top of a tall building then follow up with a lightning blast to the head in mid air, then lightning drop onto their twitching roasting corpse. Safe to say he didn't get up after that.
First day buy - thank you Sucker Punch!

Just played the demo, it is I have to say a masterpiece, however not my cup of tea, its similar to crackdown (if you like those kind of games), I don't so I won't be buying this, still the demo is very good, top notch graphics and the open world is just amazing, I just found it soulless, it's just lacking something but I can't quite put my finger to it.
snyms622 @ May 21st 2009 6:05PM
U.S release date anyone?
MACZ_2004 @ May 21st 2009 6:39PM
the demo was suppose 2 come out 2day may 21 and the game may26.... so ya....
James @ May 21st 2009 6:48PM
Nothing good :(
snyms622 @ May 21st 2009 8:09PM
Demo is up on U.S PSN store.
Apparently, it's going to take me 17,706 minutes to download it.
IHateBioshock @ May 22nd 2009 3:59AM
Disappointed by the demo. Felt pretty lame/slow and I'm fed up of scale-o-vision (blocky and pixelated). Also very VERY drab art direction. Controls were ok I Guess but some strange button choices.
Most of all I found ZERO fun in throwing electricity at 'me too' baddies... reminds me of plasmids in Bioverhypedshock (though I think it may have actually felt MORE fun in that game).
I just wish the devs would stop pushing the hardware in places it doesn't want to go, it's obvious they made graphical concessions (like GTAIV) to fit this psuedo open world in to a ps3 and yet it doesn't convince me. It's too 'over busy' with too 'similar pallete' for anything to look defined. GFX aside the gameplay felt pretty dull but then I'm getting on a bit now and I'm bored with this style of 'zap everything' - I'm sure teens will love it though.
Levi @ May 22nd 2009 10:32PM
I have to say that I didn't think it was bad, but I'm not feeling the love like everyone else. The open world aspect has been done before, and the core gameplay is nothing new, so I don't see why everyone's drooling over the game. IT is fun and looks like a solid title, but it's not miles ahead of everything else like the media and hype are portraying.
I think these days it doesn't matter what the quality of a game is, if they hype is there and there, there's a good chance it will get good reviews, and everyone listens to reviews as if it will definitely reflect their level of enjoyment of a game. I wish there were a way to test my theory, but there isn't.
Levi @ May 22nd 2009 10:38PM
So many typos and obvious grammar errors. And I just noticed your name. Do you go against pretty much every public opinion in the gaming world too like me?
IHateBioshock @ May 23rd 2009 5:22AM
Pay no attention to my username, that goes way back to a sorry story of hype and shoddy work from a crap developer (who was once great - witness the beauty of SystemShock2).
Ok no i DO NOT go against popular/hyped games by default. I am always hoping they are as good as is written but rarely are.
I love many popular highly rated games but they have to feel slick, immersive, something 'new' (sometimes) helps. I do not tolerate technical flaws very easily I admit, and that includes poor frame rates, bad aliasing, tearing etc. If a game has THOSE it better be very special for me to endure with it.
I was looking forward to both this and prototype, right now (after the inFamous Demo) I think prototype looks better. Again I will reserve judgement until *I* play.
I *NEVER* base my final decision on reviews as I find, really, that the industry has to support itself (esp during the 'bleak' summer) and trust me, games WILL get overhyped for the good of everyone who works in the industry (I used to work at Codemasters so I know how these things work). Magazines and websites will always think twice before hurting sales of 'any' big software because its all linke to income into the industry they are part of. Advertising, sponsoring etc... you don't bite the hand that feeds you.
So now I judge a game based on my own feelings not some paid reviewer. I've loved many so called '7/10' games, games with flaws (dead rising was like a breath of fresh air to me on my 360 - before the console died ;) ) - Motorstorm, Burnout P, Street Fighter 4, Uncharted - all games I LOVE and were well reviewed. So no I don't just go against them for the sake of it.
Killzone 2? Hated the demo. Being a PC gamer also shows me how good FPS can be so I guess it takes MORE to impress me... I will prob pick it up on budget (same as MGS4) but as they stood they were massively hyped AND I don't believe they were quite as hot as they were said to be (while still being great games of course just not pleasing to me enough to drop £40 on them).

HELP!!
Ok, some questions. Does the UK store have the same stuff as the EU store? either way, I signed up for a EU acct (I'm in the US) to try out the RF:G mp demo, and I don't see it anywhere. WTF region should I use for signing up for a EU acct? I used Ireland... there's no Red Faction mp demo ANYWHERE...

I was looking forward to both this and prototype. The gameplay on this demo was somewhat flat and samey. Starting off on a 'directed mission' (with requisite female nag) didn't help my feelings, much less the scaled up low res look of the environment... makes my eyes bleed (a little)...

I liked many well reviewed games (Uncharted, Motorstorm, Burnout, Dead Rising on 360, Gears, Street Fighter 4 etc) the review score (high or low) has little to do with my appreciation of a game when I try it for myself. :)

Can anyone find the LBP costumes? I can't find them.
