Rag Doll Kung Fu was the most downloaded PSN game in April

Rag Doll Kung Fu has the honor of being the most-bought PSN game in the US during the month of April, according to Gamasutra's monthly top ten list. In case you're wondering, the game was made completely free to download for a week on May 14. That may result in the game staying put at the top of the list when next months results roll in, too.
Comet Crash debuts at number six this month, with the only other new game, Flock, not even being placed in the top ten. Bit of a shame, in our opinion. We would've liked to have seen it do much better. However, it's good to see that some of the PS3's more quirky games are still going strong, such as Flower, Linger In Shadows and Noby Noby Boy.

shock and awe!

I'm guessing Rag Doll Kung Fu was one of the least "bought" this month. Why would anyone buy it if it's free?!
Jerses @ May 26th 2009 7:39PM
I hate PSN since then.... i downloaded the full game since release and a month later...BAM!! its free... i want my money back. Also...the game is kind of boring even when youre playing with 4 player. They should have included online multiplayers.
crazypenguin @ May 26th 2009 7:43PM
actually it'll still be "bought" just not by you, but by sprint. the company isn't exactly nice enough to give away its product, sprint gets ad time on the PSN and we get a free game, which i don't mind a bit. so its going to be at the top of the list even if it is "free".
on a better look of things though, it may be patched, they did comment before saying that they are looking into DLC, and with so many people having the game now due to its freeness, i can see them attempting online play.
Yingerman @ May 26th 2009 7:46PM
I haven't heard about the DLC yet, but I agree, online play would be great!
Ashitaka @ May 26th 2009 7:25PM
I was actually looking forward to Flock but after playing the demo bah.. It was too difficult to steer the animals and make them go wherever you wanted them to go.
Roto13 @ May 26th 2009 7:33PM
Yeah. I wasn't impressed by the Flock demo either.
Roto13 @ May 26th 2009 7:34PM
I can't be the only one who thinks that Rag Doll Kung Fu just isn't very fun.
Ashitaka @ May 26th 2009 7:37PM
Now it's my turn to agree with you.
Downloaded it for free, got the trophies, never gonna play it again.
Yingerman asked "Why would anyone buy it if it's free?!". I ask "Why would anyone buy it?"
Roto13 @ May 26th 2009 7:42PM
You got the trophies? :P I got two of them (all motion based attacks and bronze on all challenges) and that was it. It might be fun in multiplayer and I'll give it a try, but I doubt it.
gkwie @ May 26th 2009 7:47PM
all I need are gold on the challenges. Damn it's hard :/
(I know, I know, that's what she said)
Yingerman @ May 26th 2009 7:59PM
that IS what she said!
megapenguinx @ May 26th 2009 10:35PM
I didn't think it was very fun either :/ I just play it in short spurts
Dan Davis @ May 27th 2009 1:59AM
@ Roto13
I got the same 2 trophies as you, and I pretty much decided that I'm done with that game. It's wayyyyy to freakin hard to gold those challenges.
Glad I didn't pay for this game.
Timstew @ May 27th 2009 3:46AM
Since I got it for free, I say it's fun and some of the challenges are addictive. It just becomes very frustrating at times, and I would be pissed if I paid for it.
henning @ May 27th 2009 3:59AM
i think so, too. nice graphics but poor gameplay.
Patrick @ May 26th 2009 7:48PM
Hey, i would have brought Flock if it was a bit cheaper. What was it, £12/13? I only spend that much on downloadable games if they're something brilliant, like Wipeout HD.
Also, woah Mortal Kombat 2 is still selling incredibly well.
RavenLord @ May 26th 2009 8:00PM
Ragdoll Kung-fu was just stupid. I'd be pissed if I paid to have that game in my hard drive cause it just sucks major donkey balls! Yeah free......whoopty doo....
Big D. @ May 26th 2009 8:45PM
Rag Doll Kung-Fu is awesome, however paying $10 for a game to turn around and have it given away free is NOT awesome. I'll be bitter about that for a VERY long time.
astronautcowboy3 @ May 26th 2009 8:57PM
Just make sure you never delete your free copy of RDKF, because it doesn't actually count as a purchase for whatever reason.
Ar tonelico 2 @ May 30th 2009 11:03AM
You sure about that? Because everything else you can just re-download free or not with no additional charge. Like you can re-download demos, add-on content, etc.
JDHexen @ May 26th 2009 9:51PM
Rag Doll is okay I guess but I can't get the dam trophies for it.
