Video of Versus in Tales of VS
Japan is ready for its next JRPG compilation fighter. Taking a page from Dissidia, the upcoming Tales of VS pits characters from the various Tales games against each other. After the break, you'll be able to see some videos of four-player battle in action, but we have to say that the visuals look quite lackluster in comparison to Square Enix's effort. Yes, there are four characters on the screen, but we can't say we're particularly impressed. Why not tell us what you think in the comments section?

this looks a crapton better than dissidia...the only problem i see is it zooms in a bit too far when all four characters are standing next to each other
this 2-d environment makes a lot more sense i think with a "brawl" type game
attacks look a bit over powered though. must have been "final smashes"

Those platforming stages appear similar to the ones in the Naruto games, and the graphics don't seem too bad. However, it seems like a nice addition for the Tales of VS series.

Honestly, the game from those two videos looks kinda dull.
The action looks too chaotic to know what's going on when in melee. The animations definitely seem off. Is the Tales series really something that needs a smash brothers formulae? Is it really that popular?

Very popular in Japan, I think it's the 3rd more popular RPG series there, behind only FF and DQ.

About the first vid: Isn't that Yuri kickin ass there? The video says Luke.
About the game itself: I hope it's not anything like Smash Bros... god I hate that saga. And the graphics, well, they look pretty nice to me. It's pretty much Tales style, I'd say... and Yuri looks pretty close to how he looks on Vesperia :)

Looks some Jump Ultimate stars a bit, this is no way compared to Dissidia. It does look fun though, I like the specials.

Looks like some Jump Ultimate stars gameplay but with way better specials. This is no way compared to Dissidia but it still looks fun.

"Tales of" series a la Smash Bros. I like the concept. It may turn out nicely.

Game play reminds me of the first two Bleach DS games. Knowing me, I'll blindly love this game.
