Mushroom Wars brings more cute, cuddly RTS death to PSN

This isn't PixelJunk Monsters -- but you'd be hard pressed to say otherwise at first (or second) glance. Creat Studios is bringing yet another PSN exclusive this summer, and this one seems to be inspired by Q-Games' popular tower defense game. While the art and music styles are more than a little reminiscent of Monsters, the gameplay is closer to that of IGF nominee Dyson. While Monsters is all about defense, you'll have to be far more aggressive in Mushroom Wars, amassing a giant army and strategically taking positions as quickly as possible. It may not look original, but we're excited to get our hands on the game as soon as possible.

even the theme music and the way the title is displayed is reminisent of PJMonsters

That was the very first thing I thought when the video started up. PJMonsters was a fantastic game but I don't know if piggy backing off the success of the game will do these guys any good.

Regardless, this could be good in its own right and if so that would be great. Also, this looks less RTS and more TD to me. Though TD could be a form of RTS? Hmm...subgenres are fun!

cool concept, I wonder if besides upgrading the structures you can also develop new attacking classes.And I hope this brings multiplayer attached, at least since it doesn't give the ability to move units around it should be a lot easier to get done properly.
