SourceJR @ Jun 11th 2009 10:57AM
can anyone in the US confirm if vidZone works in the US?
I.AM.IRON.MAN @ Jun 11th 2009 11:12AM
No offence, but i hope it doesn't.
You've got the much more useful video store to enjoy whilst a year and a half later no such thing has even been mentioned for Europe.
So get your hands off and go play with your own toys!
SourceJR @ Jun 11th 2009 11:14AM
Well ill trade you the PS video store for playtv .. i wish i got a playstation DVR.
OMnkyPnts @ Jun 11th 2009 11:26AM
At least you have something with videos...
In Canada we don't have any of the video services. No video store, no VidZone, and no PlayTV.
I for one hope this works over here.
I.AM.IRON.MAN @ Jun 11th 2009 11:29AM
trust me, play TV is no substitute...
But i do hope it works for all those folks in Canada and elsewhere who also have no quality video service...
SourceJR @ Jun 11th 2009 11:37AM
Since i dont use the video stoe except once when it first came out and to download the free episode of voltron i would rather have playTV so the stuff i can record the stuff i watch on tv to the ps3 and not have to find it online or something or watch it on hulu through the browser.
Plankfan @ Jun 11th 2009 11:57AM
It does not work in the US
cub @ Jun 11th 2009 12:25PM
For what it's worth, it doesn't work in the UK either! Been trying and trying and trying and trying for about an hour now... "Vidzone is currently experiancing high levels of demand. Please wait a few moments and then restart the application to try again" and again, and again...
stormtrooper190 PSN= (im not telling you that) @ Jun 11th 2009 12:25PM
here in iceland we dont even get the playstation store for that matter. we nedd it more than asia,US,canada and australia combined.
trunks @ Jun 11th 2009 10:57AM
overlord demo here I come
benny boy @ Jun 11th 2009 10:58AM
Has anyone tried Vidzone in the US? Does it work?
il_duce620 @ Jun 11th 2009 11:01AM
Pretty sure vidZone is European exclusive. Something to do with all the copyright shenanigans. Could be wrong, though!
benny boy @ Jun 11th 2009 11:07AM
I'm guessing that people in the US will be able to download the program but it will block all the videos which is similar to what the US Video Store does to us Europeans.
We can't even see the Video store or anything on it, let alone download anything.
whistlepig @ Jun 11th 2009 11:20AM
no it does not work on us or a uk account made in the us since it checks your isp . i tried it this morning
kmartwalmart @ Jun 11th 2009 11:21AM
Nah it doesn't it tells me something about the video ouput
Aozora @ Jun 11th 2009 11:06AM
why should it work in the us when it's not even working in europe??? xD
dannyv5 @ Jun 11th 2009 11:08AM
vidzone works fine for me in Spain and its pretty cool
Poozle @ Jun 11th 2009 11:07AM
Anyone know if they're planning on releasing a multipack of burnout content? I'd like to buy lots of the stuff already released but would rather wait until I could buy it all at once (preferably for a discount).
Feba @ Jun 11th 2009 11:11AM
Well, they're certainly wasting no time in getting PSP games up on the store at least.
SecretAgentHam @ Jun 11th 2009 11:12AM
i hope they make rockband unplugged as a download today in the US. or sony/harmonix lost a sale
eimersaufen @ Jun 11th 2009 11:16AM
VidZone is only available in UK, Ireland, France, Italy, Germany, Spain and Australia. See http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2009/06/11/vidzone-lands-on-playstation3-today/
6 out of 48 countries in Europe. Bravo Sony, bravo...
Jake5678 @ Jun 11th 2009 1:16PM
Well that's just great...! FFS SCEE Europe is more than these six countries.
When are you going to give Scandinavia some love!?
Alphathon @ Jun 11th 2009 3:35PM
I would guess that's for licencing reasons. This is the music industries fault, not SCEE (not SCEE Europe as that would be sony computer entertainment europe europe...man I hate redundant acronyms, even if they are due to typos). It's also the reason that it's not available elsewhere in the world e.g. USA.
*wonders why Australia is grouped in with SCEE, seeing as it's part of oceania/austrilasia, and clearly not europe*
Alphathon @ Jun 11th 2009 3:37PM
Oops, just realised I misinterpeted Jake5678's comment. Why does nobody punctuate? It causes confusion!
DaLeOn @ Jun 11th 2009 11:17AM
I can confirm it oesn't work in the US.
VidZone is Region- Locked
Heavytoka @ Jun 11th 2009 11:21AM
Thanks for the heads up
SourceJR @ Jun 11th 2009 11:22AM
well that sucks
DaLeOn @ Jun 11th 2009 11:29AM
No problemo, but yea, it took about 3-5 min long to tell me that it doesn't work :P
I actually thought it would work. Well off to streaming music video on youtube.
Hxczuner (PSN i.d) @ Jun 11th 2009 11:19AM
when is the Us getting the store update? We haven't gotten anything yet
SourceJR @ Jun 11th 2009 11:24AM
probably around 8 tonight.
Hxczuner (PSN i.d) @ Jun 11th 2009 3:30PM
what is that pac. time?
SourceJR @ Jun 11th 2009 3:54PM

pbognar @ Jun 11th 2009 11:18AM

Ghidora @ Jun 11th 2009 11:31AM
dosent even work here in Denmark... sucky sucky.
il_duce620 @ Jun 11th 2009 12:12PM
While I'm sure vidZone would be cool (here in the U.S.), I'm satisfied with a Killzone map update and a Burnout update. My money's being spent tonight, regardless!
Sabre Squadron @ Jun 11th 2009 12:13PM
In true Sony fashion, the thing doesn't work worth a damn... tried to launch it a few times now and, "Fatal Error"!
Just when you think Sony might actually do something right for a change... hmm.
sc00by_y00 @ Jun 11th 2009 1:02PM
I am in but now have:
warning
an error occured when rerieving the music video feeds ,
retry / cancel
box.. I think its fallen over..
sc00by_y00 @ Jun 11th 2009 1:15PM
Its working, I am in and its playing its ok.. Sound quality is good and video is decent.
Sabre Squadron @ Jun 11th 2009 12:14PM
Oops, talking about Vidzone of course.
wulfferine @ Jun 11th 2009 12:29PM
Killzone and Burnout is goin to be sweet
Peter Graham @ Jun 11th 2009 12:33PM
Another amazing product from Sony, and yes It's already down and receiving fatal errors, fantastic
Alex Haycock @ Jun 11th 2009 12:33PM
Vidzone dosen't seem to be working.
AlexVK @ Jun 11th 2009 1:04PM
Amazing!!!! More than 2 hours on Vidzone and I already have more than 70 videos on my favourite playlist. And video quality is better than my cable MTV Hits. ¬¬
Thank Sony xD
sahil @ Jun 11th 2009 1:38PM
