Canadian Best Buy offers $30 inFamous, $10 Patapon 2
According to Best Buy's "Summer of Savings" flier, Canadian gamers are getting some seriously discounted games. PSP owners can pick up Resistance Retribution ($15) and Patapon 2 ($10), while PS3 owners will be able to get this summer's big PS3 blockbuster, inFamous, for only $30. Once again, these deals are Canada only -- our American readers can finally be jealous of our mounty-lovin' friends up north.

Yes i agree with the article it's about time Canada get's a Kick Ass Deal in Games Over The Americans. i knew about this over a week ago from Cheap Ass Gamer But it's good for others too know as well, just hope it doesn't cut down my chances on getting the game haha i'm sure i could price match somewhere if it comes down to that :)
Styar @ Jun 17th 2009 11:24AM

Xeones25 @ Jun 17th 2009 11:29AM
Wow, those are all three very good deals.
I actually just bought Resistance Retribution and Patapon 2 for my new PSP.
eddy @ Jun 17th 2009 11:31AM
Aw damn. My wife really wants Infamous too. Curse you, Canucks!
PSN-Spacesuit501 @ Jun 17th 2009 11:38AM
Can you order it from here in the good ol' USA?
advil @ Jun 17th 2009 11:39AM

Canada FTW! So I see this has a web code attached to it. Is it a online deal only or can I make this purchase in-store?
Tim Parsons @ Jun 17th 2009 3:17PM
I'm pretty sure the web code is for looking it up on the website not for the deal itself(though I could be wrong)
Already got the Platinum so I'll put my $30 into some ultra bang fireworks LOL
sony boy @ Jun 17th 2009 11:57AM

Draco @ Jun 17th 2009 12:01PM
Check your receipt you may have a 30 day price match on it.
If they are sold out at BB get it price matched at Futureshop or even toys r us.
Game_playa @ Jun 17th 2009 12:05PM

itbekevin2010 @ Jun 17th 2009 12:18PM

IF THEY ARE SOLD OUT ON THE 30TH AT BEST BUY, GO TO FUTURE SHOP or STAPLES and GET IT PRICED MATCHED- save some extra cash, they never check store stock so you can get away with it.
aswell you can buy the game now and on the 30th take your receipt and take advantage of the 30 day guarantee.
Nick @ Jun 17th 2009 12:59PM
uh... if they don't have stock, they won't price match. That's kinda the whole thing.
IF, however, a store in buttcrack nowhere has it, that's a different story. So keep a check on things.
There's always Sears, they'll price match ANYTHING and just don't care :)
shneider.john @ Jun 17th 2009 12:19PM
God damn, just 'cus we're in Canada doesn't mean we're hockey loving mountain dwelling Canucks, some of us live in Toronto, a city almost identical to New York. But yeah, overall life IS better in good ol' Canada!
nutellapr @ Jun 17th 2009 12:57PM
US is getting the same deal $25US

dunno what the hell a mounty is, but I'm definitely picking up Infamous on the 30th!
Discotheque @ Jun 17th 2009 1:15PM
FUCKKKKKK! I picked up Infamous on release for 75 Canadian (tax and also 69.99 price tag).
This pisses me off.
Bobs @ Jun 17th 2009 2:18PM
Well if any Canadians are worried about the game selling out, just get the game now; and then use the price guarantee policy to get back $40 from the total (+taxes).
I've done this twice (without knowing that there would be a price drop in the near future.
I think I'm going to pick up my copy soon.
Scuffles @ Jun 17th 2009 2:30PM
nice deals but how exactly does one sell out of patapon 2, unless Canada got a physical release ..... in which case its a hop skip and a jump across the border for me to get one, as far as I know all NA patapon 2 are download only.
So if they run out of boxes that have nothing but a download code and an instruction manual in them .... and they can't print out download codes on their receipts .... thats another pure fail for Sonys digital download strategy .... all the convenience of being download exclusive with all the nostalgia? of being sold out.
Bobs @ Jun 17th 2009 7:28PM
At the moment, Best Buy is only selling a few digital download cars (I.E. iTunes codes, Xbox Live codes and etc.). I don't think they're selling games via code in retail stores.
I was mainly referring to inFamous selling it, which if it does. You can always get a rain check that'll guarantee you that same price for 30 days.
Hydrophobicfish @ Jun 17th 2009 2:40PM
Man, Canadians get ALL the luck when it comes to electronic entertainment!
Tim Parsons @ Jun 17th 2009 3:25PM
yeah that's why we have No PSN video Service and not VidZone service,. yes we're so lucky.
Sonu Rai @ Jun 17th 2009 7:39PM
Would the Canadian version of the game work in a PAL/UK PS3?
Going to be in Canada at the time.
So please let me know.
Thanks.
Hypoid @ Jun 17th 2009 8:32PM
Yes, it will work. All PS3 games(physical copies) are NOT region locked. They have region codes on the boxes but ALL PS3's can play ALL PS3 GAMES.
As for Blu-ray movies, I'm pretty sure they're region locked in following the DVD region lock convention.
Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regional_lockout#Video_games
*Plus I've read many journalists mention that PS3 games don't have region lock.
Mark @ Jun 17th 2009 8:57PM
See the big picture here folks...If you already bought Infamous, then buy it again and then return the "gift" you just got to Wal-mart unopened, no receipt for store credit and get the game of your choice for $30...Evil...
