Famitsu unveils Tales of Vesperia PS3 bonus content

That guy in the picture? He's saying "damn, I wish I'd waited and bought the PS3 version of Tales of Vesperia, instead of the 360 version." That's because he's just read the latest Famitsu and found out about all the cool extras that will be included with the game when it hits the PS3 later this year. This includes new Giganto Monsters and new areas of the world for them to inhabit, such as additional dungeon and desert environments.
Those who pre-order in Japan will also receive a redemption code for downloadable costumes from another game in the series, Tales of the Abyss. Not only that, but people who buy both Vesperia and the upcoming PSP Tales of VS will get even more goodies, as each game will include a password which will activate new content in the other.

Roto13 @ Jun 23rd 2009 8:42PM
I looked at that picture and was like "Why does that dude look like a black-haired Ashe?" :P
Isilme @ Jun 23rd 2009 8:50PM
o.o I am never going to buy a Bandai Namco game again for the 360.
ToA costumes?...hot I wonder if that means ToA HD remake or offspin game?
mikeisthegreatest @ Jun 23rd 2009 8:51PM
I think it is coming out in America, also. I know that i heard it was going to be released in Europe in the 2nd quarter 2010, so it must be releasing at the same time as the Japanese release date.
sony boy @ Jun 23rd 2009 9:02PM
wow...that sounds like sex.
-Jad- @ Jun 23rd 2009 9:09PM
I need both of those game on USA, come on Namco.
UltimatePs3FANBOY @ Jun 23rd 2009 9:12PM
Once again the PS3 reins supreme
ZEN @ Jun 23rd 2009 9:28PM
I must say, even though the 360 gets games earlier, I'm loving this growing trend of the PS3 getting a release later on with exclusive content... BioShock, Alone in the Dark, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, Tales of Vesperia and I'm sure a few more.
360 may get it first, but the PS3 seems to get better versions... or just ones with more content.
robb @ Jun 23rd 2009 9:48PM
Totally agree man, i can't wait to see what other 360 games will get, maybe L4D with extra content, or maybe even gears of war...
NexusSIX @ Jun 24th 2009 10:39AM
GeneralM: Wow, it must really suck to be you, eh?
karlwulfekote @ Jun 23rd 2009 10:39PM
I played the 360 demo at my girlfriend's house. I wasn't that impressed with it.
MasterWolf @ Jun 23rd 2009 10:47PM
Wow, Namco Bandai really screwed people over that bought this game first, although I may not care about full voice over (I usually skip dialogue from full voice over games like fallout 3), getting a new character, new monsters, and areas......ridiculous.
baby sea tuna @ Jun 24th 2009 10:26AM
What's ridiculous is paying what amounts to a $30 tax for new monsters in a year old game when you can get the 360 version for about half of the original MSRP now.
Libra1989 @ Jun 23rd 2009 11:51PM
Please this needs to freaking come out here..it's all i really want
ColorblindMonk @ Jun 24th 2009 12:14AM
So what about 360 owners? Will we get some DLC or will we be screwed over by the exclusivity spiral yet again?
ryanpaulmcgowan @ Jun 24th 2009 1:28AM
You're not the only guys who get screwed with the exclusive stuffs.
It hurts us all and it's retarded.
acepilot101 @ Jun 24th 2009 12:48AM
Well since Eternal Sonata came out on the Ps3 after the release of the 360 one i'm pretty positive that the game well be out in the NA in the winter of 09. Since Namco is pretty consistent with releasing a "Tales of" game every year.
ZEN @ Jun 24th 2009 7:46AM
I didn't mean you, ace. I was referring to GeneralM... c'mon, now. Obvious troll is obviously not you. =p
acepilot101 @ Jun 24th 2009 12:57PM
Lol my bad. But if you really think about it. it could happen that this game we'll be a NA release.
ZEN @ Jun 24th 2009 1:41AM
Wow. Never encountered a super troll before... can't say that now that I've gotten a reply to my comment from GeneralM. Trolls: The cause of my laughter, the solution to my boredom.
acepilot101 @ Jun 24th 2009 4:33AM
am i really a troll o.o im just saying that it does sound obvious and sony is in dire need of jrpgs this time around.
Jade @ Jun 24th 2009 2:43AM
Xbox360 users were Beta testers for this game and PS3 is the final Version, that you Xbox360 user for beta testing.
trunks @ Jun 24th 2009 2:47AM
so the release is in september of this year in Japan or am I wrong? What about NA/EU?
acepilot101 @ Jun 24th 2009 4:39AM
Well playasia.com said that the game is slated to hit September 17th. So my guess is give it October maybe. since Eternal Sonata released in September 18th in japan. and the NA version of it was released October 24th. So there is still hope.
SoCoolCurt (PSN: KillaKornbread - XBL: SoCoolCurt) @ Jun 24th 2009 5:15AM
this kind of makes me wish i didn't buy a 360 now. i mean i bought it to play all the exclusive JRPG's that MS was locking up (this being one of them) but all those games are slowly coming to the PS3 anyway, which i already had. it's whatever though, it's great having all the consoles just so i can play any game regardless of platform.
flamecerbrus @ Jun 24th 2009 5:51PM
Have fun playing with Milo. : D
R (XBL: Esoteric Lord) @ Jun 24th 2009 9:39AM
Id probably feel a bit bad knowing that a big part of owning a PS3 is looking forward to year-old 360 games.
That being said, ToV was a great game. I have no regrets about buying it for the 360, as my first intial playthrough on the default difficulty took me over 60 hours, and I could easily put in another 20 at least if I wanted to go achivement hunting. Was a really fun game. Long fun game.
Maybe 360 people will get extra stuff as DLC, but even then I probably wont buy it. I didnt even do all the quests in stuff in the 360 verison, or bother ot get all the costumes or anything (its alot harder than you would think). I only paid like $30 for my copy too, so I most certainly got my moneys worth.
Enjoy the year old 360 game with bonuses. Ill move on to newer fields.
HotLimit @ Jun 24th 2009 11:30AM
Newer fields like 8 year-old Dreamcast games?
mxlippard @ Aug 18th 2009 1:27PM
PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD LET THIS GAME COME TO THE US!!!!
If it doesn't I'll freaking... I don't know cry my eyes out
ToV for the 360 was awesome but was kinda... I don't know lacking I guess?
This one looks like its going to take its giant penis and shove it in all the wholes that the 360 left open...I really wouldn't mind if they change the whole story for the fact that you get two new playable characters and all together tons of new shit... looks EPIC AS FUCK!
