Second MAG dev diary talks framerate, inspiration for 256 players
Certainly, we want Zipper to deliver on all of its promises. The end of the dev diary makes us hungry for more, when the developers explain their vision: "In other first-person shooters, you might see big events, like helicopters going down, or explosions, and buildings on fire. Those things are all scripted; they're happening outside of the gameplay space. In MAG, it's the first first-person-shooter where all those things are happening around you as an effect of gameplay."

Agreed. Stop promoting fanboyism, douchenozzle.

I really want to try this game out

This game will be awesome. I just hope people don't over look it for COD.

The second paragraph really makes me drool :D
I can't wait to play this game!

was really sold on this being a third-person shooter like socom. to make it more of a sim than an arcade-like first person which we will ALLL have in modern warfare2 which'll release around same time. mag better have more than just the #256 to throw around to make it worthy, atleast have an option of third person view to help take advantage of huge maps.

Hahaha....CoD... god I'm really bored of people thinking that is the GTA of First Person Shooters.
Son, there are 2 types of Shooters.
There are massive-scaled, tons of balanced-classes, 50 ways to be helpful to your team, vehicles-enabled games.
Then there is CoD. With all it's RPG style upgrades glory, and other nothing-to-do-but-shoot games like CSS, TF2 and Resistance.
In fact, they tried massive-scale CoD in Resistance 2, and I fell asleep faster than you could say "Boring."
So no, not everyone agrees with worshiping CoD and no games are inclined to be like, or live up to CoD.

I don't think more necessarilly means better, I'm very skeptical about this game, but that's just my opinion anyways.

I really, really want to be excited for this game, but it's just not clicking. Maybe it's one of those experiences that you need to play to understand. A demo would really help me (and others, I'm sure) decide.

Come on...How can anyone NOT be impressed with this game???
baughgoth @ Jun 24th 2009 1:24PM
It's an FPS.
Some people aren't into that sort of thing unless it's story driven.
Still, quite impressed in a stand-offish "256 online, that sounds impressive, will it be playable? I'd like to see that." kind o' way.

is anyone else having issues today with youtube and firefox? the video is really small in a very large black frame.
Chopper @ Jun 24th 2009 2:14PM
I am very excited for this game. Finally, an online experience to one up BF2 for the PC.
TekkenDevil @ Jun 24th 2009 4:58PM
Are the first person perspective hand and weapon animations final?
'Cause they look extreeeeemely crap. It reminds me of Half Life 1, but even worse. They're too far off to the right and it shows too much of the arms.
I also hope this will have the "Battlefield Experience" in it, having each upgrade tree for each class have completely different gameplay styles, much like in BF2142.
Either way, I'm looking forward to this, and I'm sure it's gonna be a major positive point for the PS3.
meatee @ Jun 25th 2009 1:22PM
I'd really like to see what would happen if all 256 players rushed one spot on the map and created a massive pileup.
