Watch Sigma 2-exclusive Momiji slash up some ninjas
You've probably read the laundry list of all the things that are new to the PS3-exclusive version of Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2. Among the list of three new playable characters is Momiji, first introduced in Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword on Nintendo DS. Check out the footage after the break and watch as a proficient player (ie. not us) slashes through a horde of ninjas -- and don't miss her sweet bow & arrow.
We're still a bit miffed that his version is missing the gore that made the original Ninja Gaiden 2 notorious. Guess we'll have to stick with this improved -- and artsier -- version.

Never had a chance to buy the original Ninja Gaiden 2 for 360, but I'll defiantly be getting this now!

You're going to put up a struggle while getting this?

... Ryu hayabusa and the whole Ayame, Momiji and Rachel combo trio in the same game? gosh, let's see if Ryu gets straight this time...
So... Momiji seems way more agile than Rachel, thumbs up. But the humongous boobs is a paraddox we all have to face... not really annoying, just a detail.

I'm honestly not a fan of the overuse of gore. I don't play games to see lots of blood, I play to be entertained, and no, they aren't the same thing (at least not to me). Of course, I also don't care for every female video game character having huge boobs, so my taste in game art direction has been slowly becoming more and more the exact opposite of 99% of gamers.
"Artsier" is the direction I move toward for games, so I may actually play this version of Ninja Gaiden despite completely skipping NG2 - and then get my ass handed to me so badly I quit halfway through like the bitch that I am.

I don't get it.... they don't have that much blood, yet the characters still feel the need to flick their blade at the end of a fight (and nothing comes off). I hope they let you select the level of blood and gore from the main option menu. Still a first day buy for me, none the less.

yeah I'm really looking forward to this game now. Any set release date for europe?
devilsei @ Jul 3rd 2009 3:39PM
Eh, I wouldn't necessarily call them "Proficient"... anyone worth their salt in NG knows to go after them hard and fast without getting nailed hard... :P
Teasing aside, why did they honestly feel the need to remove the blood, and in its place, replace it with magic... stuff? Just seemed so weird to cut off their arm or head, and see nothing but magic blue stuff. God, there should be no reason for me to put in my date of birth to see that, even with the glance of side boob when they showed her using the bow.

geez, they really toned downed the gore. I mean its just red paint. no limbs or anything :(

i think u need to watch more vids.
after they kill the enemies, there's blood on their weapon so they shake it off.
also u won't see that much w/ crappy quality vids, check out some gametrailers videos to see what i am saying.
also the new director Hayashi-san making NGS2 indenting for the Japanese audience more this time, not American audience like NG2 which was intended for American audience.
NG2 on X360 got a Z rating in Japan and sold like crap there, couldn't even get to 55K copies sold there, also got banned from some countries as well.
the gore and blood got tone down because Hayashi want this game to sell good in his own country Japan so he need to tone down the gore.
