Learn to command and control in latest MAG dev diary

The PlayStation Blog's "MAG Monday" series concludes today with a video on the command and control features that can be found in the game. Check out the video after the break to hear various members of the development team discussing the features, including those which will allow you to command your squadmates to perform certain strategic actions. MAG's due out later this year, so expect to hear even more about the game as its release nears.

im so glad they finally made a game with a big multiplayer online mode AND emphasized team cooperation

No offense to you Kenneth, but I don't think that Giant Bloody Wargame is a real game (Unless you're being sarcastic). I looked at the website and then googled the game and the only thing I could find was your original website. If it were a real game, I think it would be talked about on sites like Joystiq, Gamespot, IGN, etc...

yea giant bloody wargame is a spoof post and the a button is a video game humor site

Looks good, but KZ2 is enough for me.

yeeeah... i don't see the teamwork happening with random people logging on. clan players..? sure, there'll be lots of teamwork going on there and whatnot, but after seeing how most people play on cod4, mgo, killzone, bf:bc, etc, i still think it's gonna be a huge clusterfuck. i'm not saying it's not gonna be fun as hell trying to see if you can kill more than 30+ people with a single airstrike, but i do see that this is going to be one messy game. i mean, i can imagine more than half the team choosing the sniper type and the other half trying to take command of the whole team and spamming commands. that's gonna get annoying fast... can you imagine? hearing "take out that bunker!" 123452463546 freakin times in a row because the "commander" isn't seeing what he/she wants being done. ghad. please let there be a mute option.... and that folks, is my 2¢.

You obviously never played Battlefield before.
Put down CoD with it's overly predictable, lone-wolfing gameplay and get it.

War is cool.

Hell sony online can't even get a game of 1 vs 1 on MLB 09 the show run without major lag! What makes everyone think they will be able to support a game like MAG?
Exemplar @ Jul 8th 2009 5:52AM
From my experience in Killzone 2, people tend to dislike following orders. They just end up going AWOL and the game tends to end up going to hell.
Will this game be any different? I'm not sure yet. Worst case; it could turn into a game about a bunch of jerks trying to tell a bunch of other jerks to do what they want. "SECURE THAT BUNKER!" -- "NO LOLZORS! PEW PEW"
mvp576 @ Jul 8th 2009 6:26AM
This game to me anyway might be in interest to SOCOM players who eat that SHlT up.
I think they will set a roll for newer players to the game and i think i heard some dev say you get more EXP for following/commanding instead of playing like a generic COD4 player.
Exemplar @ Jul 8th 2009 7:04AM
EXP incentives eh? Intriguing. Let's hope it won't be abused.
TekkenDevil @ Jul 8th 2009 5:25PM
This can easily be done by only awarding points to the player if he kills people around the general area of the objective, and also by actually doing the objective.

i still can't decide what faction to join

Looks better and better the more I see of this game , really looking forwards to this now . Battlefield 2's commander and squad system was excellent and this seems to have built upon it and made it even better . I am surprised how good the graphics are looking as in early videos in was fairly average but to be expected for such a big shooter .
Newer shooters are making CoD4 graphics look distinctly average , but that was over 2 years now so it is to be expected .
Now for 1943 tomorrow , cant bloody wait .

Looks pretty friggin sweet. Though I have to agree with Exemplar. A lot of these objective-based games turn into an ego first where it's every man for themself and it ultimately becomes the "team's" downfall. I hope that people who get this game are more interested in that kind of experience rather than "Whatever, whatever. I do what I want!"
