Disgaea 3 trophy patch hitting on July 16

Trophy patches are continuing to trickle out (except, no, not for that game, sorry) and the latest title to receive an update is NIS' Disgaea 3. You should be seeing this patch hit in the US on July 16 at 1AM PST. The patch will add over fifty trophies to the game, but there's a downside.

Installing this patch will render your previous game saves unusable. You'll have to start from scratch. Considering the game came out last August, chances are you've probably put a few hours in. If you don't want that time wasted, don't install the patch. There's no word on a European release for the patch, but we're looking into it.

Glad I waited to pick this up. Although by now, all the DLC will likely make me still pay more then if it were new.

There goes my 120 hours of play time.

At least I don't have to spend half my hours on story now, or figuring out what to do to level up and such.

But duplicating will be a pain again..

I never played this game. I want a trophie patch on Rainbow Six Vegas 2, i want an excuse to play that game again, and for trophies would be a great excuse.

I know, i just got the Beryl DLC and was having a blast making a uber army, the Vato Bros Sword and Gold Knuckle Lance was badaaasssss but now i won't have it anymore >_< looks like i'll just not do anything after post game to make it as easy as possible so i can get those weapons fast again

This is what's keeping me from making any progress on Ratchet & Clank: TOD. I'm afraid they'll Trophy-fy it in conjunction with the release of the sequel, which means I'd have to re-play the thing.

They didn't do that for Resistance though. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see trophy patches for the first Resistance and first two R&CFs, but I'm not holding my breath too deeply.

... I've wanted the trophies for so long, but now I'm sure as hell not getting them. Why the hell does it render old save files useless? Some people, like me, have put in a friggin buttload of hours. There is no way I'm going to lose my save file when I'm about to beat Baal.

If only the old save files would still work. I wouldn't mind using a new file.

hmm as far as I remember the trophies are pretty impossible to get anyway so I might skipt this patch afterall.

10 hours is nothing. When you truly play a Disgaea game, you can hit around 120 hours. I stopped at 30 hours. My roommate is up to 80 hours and he's still not done with the game.

Speaking of trophy patches, any word on Bionic Commando Rearmed? As of June 18, Diamonon said on the PS Blog, "it’s currently in QA, so it should be available real soon." Does it usually take a month to go through approval?

I've been waiting for this also. I was always interested, but once the Japan patch came out I figured I'd wait. I'll pick it up this week now. Great news. The game release schedule has been horrible.

I hate to say this, but the fact that it makes your Save Data unusable isn't quite true. I have seen nothing to support it, and I'm pretty sure they wouldn't b so stupid as to invalidate save data that could have up to 500hrs of work on it.
Most likely they mean that the achievements aren't retroactive, so a new game will be needed (or newgame+) to get them.

Good thing I held out on playing my copy that I had since August last year lol. Now its a battle if I should play this or Cross Edge first....but right now I can't put BlazBlue down, and KOF XII coming out soon isn't going to help things out any sooner :'(

I'm wondering why the US trophy patch makes existing game saves unusable. Everything I've read about the Japanese patch (trophy guides etc) states that a newgame+ is all that's required, since the majority of the trophies are in relation to the Item World / Pirates / Reverse Pirating.

Figures, can't find those trophy guides I mentioned above now to show you all what I'm talking about regarding the newgame+.
