Media Molecule: New levels for LittleBigPlanet are a high priority
We've seen some pretty remarkable creations come out of the LittleBigPlanet community hive mind -- still, it's difficult to beat the handiwork of the game's creators at Media Molecule. We haven't seen a glut of new levels from the developer since the game's launch -- fortunately, MM's David Smith recently explained that creating new levels for the game is "high on our list of priorities" during an interview with Play Magazine.
The lack of new levels stems from a tricky balancing act the developer is forced to maintain -- should the LBP dev team focus on creating new stages to explore, or add new tools to the game for the community to sink their teeth into? Doing the latter means better community levels, which in turn inspires Media Molecule to create even better downloadable levels which attempt to "outdo the best of the community." It's the circle of adorable platforming life!

I hope they do more themed level packs like the MGS pack. Would love to see an ICO level pack.

Me too, I'm hoping the Ghostbuster Pack that is coming includes levels instead of just costumes.

@ Heavytoka
Now that would be awesome. With proton packs!

I'd rather seen new level creation tools than new levels from Media Molecule. There are a ton of great user created levels out there already. I wasn't really impressed with LBP until I finished the main game and started playing the community levels. They have some cool ideas.

There are some awesome levels. But I'd like to see some MM-Levels.
A group of ghostbuster-levels with some new tools would be great!

This is because Sony love to port their games to the 360.

How about online-multiplayer level creation?
pat1202003 @ Jul 8th 2009 7:31PM
Exactly! I hope this is on top their "list of priorities."

What?

It doesn't really look like that.

I saw a early LBP trailer where there was a sackboy and sackgirl on a pirate ship. The background of the level was a dock and the sea. What happened to this seaside level? They should make a seaside level pack!!!

What happened to the ICE? In all the early demos of them showing us the game, there was ice to go along with the fire and electricity. It would turn your sacperson into an ice cube but wouldn't kill them.
Also, I want a teleporter! I really don't think it would be too hard to implement. They could be 2-way, or 1-way and be linked with colors just like switches. Let's make it happen captain! :)
