No DLC for Gran Turismo PSP
Recently on PlayStation.Blog, racers anxious to get behind the wheel of Gran Turismo PSP fired off some questions to the game's producers. Among the topics discussed were compatibility between the PSP game and Gran Turismo 5, and DLC; with the latter being something the PSP game likely won't see. The producers described DLC as "throwing water into the ocean," as Gran Turismo PSP is to feature 800-plus cars right out of the box, which the producers equate to already being a "lifetime's worth of racing."

sounds like a good enough reason to me

I think we're more interested in getting the game first than in future DLC for a title that's yet to be released :P

This has 800 cars, no need for DLC.
Heimbachae @ Jul 15th 2009 7:37AM
800 cars. yes. 35 tracks. suck. that's the dlc people want to see, more tracks. or maybe some cross compatibility with GT5 or prologue... probably prologue since it won't have damage just like the psp version.
phivesevhenn @ Jul 24th 2009 6:05AM
no! we need 1 more car.
Paul @ Jul 14th 2009 5:06PM
idunno... only 800...
DamonTheMoney @ Jul 14th 2009 5:13PM
Has anybody even unlocked all of the cars from GT4 or GT3???
What I would like to see is NEW TRACKS in the DLC, but we won't know for a looong time.
Paul @ Jul 14th 2009 5:18PM
well actually we just found out. it says so right in the article above...

Uh...it's the freaking headline.

What I mean is, if there were to be DLC, I would want it to be for Tracks and not for cars. And who knows, maybe later next year they may announce DLC. They didn't say there will NEVER be any DLC of any kind.

I got to the 50% Special Jaguar before my memory card finally wheezed and keeled over.
butlersp @ Jul 14th 2009 5:18PM
I would assume at least new tracks or maybe there will be no DLC since I hope they added a PSP Plus feature to allow for cars and or tracks to be shared on both systems

this was the worst Dev Q&A ever on ps blog.
pr spun dribble.
seems like the bank of questions were aimed towards GT5 and not PSP...
I've been a GT fan for over 10 years, but this "interview" leaves a really bad taste in my mouth. I REALLY want to like the new GT games, but they are making it harder and harder to claim these are the best racing games out there.
Actually makes me concerned about the future of the franchise and the people who control it. not only are they getting left in the past with game features, and long development times, they cant even give decent answers to fans questions!

gran turismo 4 was the tits! I never played prologue.... but 4 was the tits! and five looks to be great too.
I mean ok they could've rushed out a sequel after a few years but I'd rather they take their time and get it right. 5 is going to add, damage, and nascar to an already great franchise.
Scuffles @ Jul 14th 2009 6:10PM
A company releasing a complete game instead of piecemeal it out in little surchargeable DLC chunklets, I'm seriously tempted to buy the game just because of that alone even tho I'm not really a fan of the series.
HotLimit @ Jul 14th 2009 6:33PM
Don't get excited, 700 of the 800 are Skylines.
Frank @ Jul 15th 2009 2:44AM
Half of the remaining cars are Lancer Evolutions and Imprezas.
chopper731 @ Jul 14th 2009 7:57PM
I didn't think Prologue was too great but this game looks to be promising. This game and GT5 have better be quite amazing with these development times..
Darlaten @ Jul 14th 2009 8:42PM
LOL - Download content for a game that was supposed to be released for the launch of the first PSP! Granted, I'm sure that GT will be better then what would have been released a few years ago, but seriously, we all should just wait until the game actually is published before requesting anything else. Besides, there are fans who still don't believe this game is ever going to be released as it's been so l . o . n . g!
walter @ Jul 14th 2009 11:04PM
Believe it when I see it.
lee @ Jul 15th 2009 3:03PM
How about finishing the thing so I can actually use my PSP
