Katamari Forever to feature Home rewards, minigames over credits

If there's one complaint we'd lobby at PlayStation Home, it's that (aside from the woefully low amount of users) there's no miniaturized version of Katamari Forever's Prince (nor his cousins) to adorn our avatar's shoulder! Well, that changes now, as Namco Bandai has revealed (via Siliconera) that not only will the upcoming title support Trophies, but also Home rewards.

There's no talk of anything outside of the parrot-like companion, though Siliconera also reveals Katamari Forever will return with minigames over the credits. Fans of We Love Katamari will also be happy to know that its minigame, featuring the King of All Cosmos, will make a return.

As cool a Home reward as this is, we must say that we'd much prefer a real shirt with a Prince sewn onto it. Pre-order bonus, Namco Bandai? Please?

signed in to home once, checked out the resident evil area. didn't like it. its a virtual friends list and a huge waste of time. but as long as these katamari rewards are free im all for it. this is what home should be like. no micro charges for worthless costume changes and garbage like that.

The Namco space on Home right now lets you get a few sort of nifty collectibles, like pop cans. I actually spent a while yesterday filling up my new, 320 GB hard drive with all the different bits of Home you have to download, and was surprised they've actually added some stuff to do. Hope it keeps up.

There are always people on whenever, I rarely log on just to see what's new. There just isn't much to do there yet to warrant mobs of people.

That would suck. Really badly. The customization on a sackboy is WAY less than a Home Avatar and everything would probably have to be rerendered into a more suitable proportion.

Also on the whole "It has trophies"

Stop mentioning that. It's as redundant as possible. EVERY GAME BEING RELEASED HAS TROPHIES! QUIT ASKING, QUIT MENTIONING IT! If you have to mention that a game has trophies (that's not a release of another earlier released title in a different region) then you're not fit to be a blogger for a PS3 article.

If you have to ask if a game is going to support trophies then you're not fit to have one.

Soiler alert! SONY MANDATED THAT ALL GAMES AFTER JANUARY 2009 HAVE TO HAVE TROPHIES WITH THE MOST MEAGER OF EXCEPTIONS.

Extra spoiler alert! Games like Burnout Paradise have more trophy points than Acheivement points. FYI

I wish the would just replace home with a little big planet stylized version of home. kind of like the avatars xbox but with little sack people.

This is what Home needs, more game integration. That way if doesn't feel like some useless app. Though personally I go on Home all the time and there is plenty of stuff to do, the new Buzz! space is extremely addicting.

(did anyone notice they gave the mall a makeover?)
