Peep the pretty worlds of Final Fantasy XIII

At one point we thought that Final Fantasy XIII would be lonely on our Spring 2010 calendar, but with so many delays it looks like Square Enix's big RPG franchise has some hefty competition. Good thing for Square Enix, then, that the publisher employs an army of expert designers with the ability to wow us with screens of the upcoming game's adventure.

GAME Watch has a handful of screenshots, including the three bundled above, showcasing the game's beautiful art style and reminding us of how far away 2010 really is. Seriously, it's like a year away or something. Check out GAME Watch (Translated) for more Final Fantasy XIII goodness.

not all final fantasy games are equal in quality and they dont share the same story most of the time, just share the title

so the "fuss" of Final fantasy doesnt mean its relating to final fantasy 13

i would consider picking up one of the earlier ones to get into
the story is never the same so you wont miss out regardless of which one you pick up
but its always better to be into it prior =]

i'm quite a grapihics whore, so one of the reasons i have this game on my radar is because of how good it looks.
that's why i'm not really interested in playing one of the previous gen games.

i was turned off when i heard it was coming out in 2010 but really now 2010 isnt that bad when others games that are being announced are also coming out in 2010, such as God of War 3.

This is going to be a great game. Having played the demo, I can say that it is definitely fun and fast paced... It completely throws the standard RPG formula out the window, though....

I'm glad to hear it's fast paced. Slow rpg's turn me off within 5 minutes and I end up regretting my purchase or sending them back to Gamefly. I can't until this comes out and see how (hopefully) great it is. I've only dipped my foot into the Final Fantasy world, but this game might make me jump head first into the series.

It's a little slow to start because the person recording was wanking off or something, but that's basically the battle system. It'll give you a good idea of the pacing.

I just don't care about Final Fantasy. I played VII and a bit of VIII and never really got into any of them. The only two rpg's i love to this day are Xebogears and Chrono Trigger. Now I'm looking to try Persona (3 Fes or 4) and Rogue Galaxy. But Final Fantasy is not for me.

It's a different game every time, so you definitely can't dismiss the series based off of 2 of them you don't like.
Some FF fans love FF7 - some don't.
Some love FF12 - some don't (myself included).

You got to give them all a chance before you write them off

You didn't like my comment and that is fine. I appreciate your honesty. You may have noticed I didn't bash the game or said anything negative about it. It certainly looks astonishing and will be great and appreciated by everyone who loves rpg's and the series. And yes, my comment wasn't about me. However I wrote my personal opinion on this particular series of games in a thread about them.

On a daily basis I see comments that have nothing to do with the original threads. And whenever I post I am very specific and support my points with links, articles and such. Today I decided to make a simple comment that could open up a discussion about the particular gameplay of the series and how it has changed (or not) over time. killthemsmithers made a great point and gave his opinion about the games.

The beauty of all is that this was simply a completely personal and subjective opinion about the series that you don't need to read or even reply to if you don't want to. Considering that what I wrote wasn't bashing the game and wasn't as off topic as you claim it to be I think you are overreacting to it when there are much worse offenders in most threads every day.

Try Dark Cloud and Dark Cloud 2 if your looking toward Rogue Galaxy ^_^ same company(Level 5) and also there's a lot of reference between the 3.

I'm not getting either version. The enviroments look like FFX's in HD. But besides that, the whole "Shiva Sisters" XXX is too filthy for my taste.

There was nothing really wrong wth FFXs enviroments, it wasnt perfect like most games, but whats this Filthy thing you speak of? i havent seen anything that would be considered filthy by any means.

@Ender: if the game is coming to Xbox you should take the opportunity to try it, microsoft still profit, instead of seeing it like you're cheating on your gf, you should see it like your gf invites one of her very hot friends to bed with you for a threesome, its not cheating because she(microsoft) was the one who done the inviting.

Final Fantasy XIII Versus is set to be ps3 exclusive at the moment, they'll get you hooked, and then you'll have to run right on back.

This game will not release in 2010.

The actual date will be December 21, 2012.

wow this looks amazing. I just hope they don't release 14 around the same time, waiting so long for a new FF and then put out 2 news ones around the same time would be torture :)

Remember, the PS3 is region-free so you can always import the Japanese version earlier if you speak Japanese.

I'm looking forward to it, and just have a few more months to wait. I've been absolutely avoiding ALL information on this one, except a couple screenshots. I want the entire game to be an experience. I did that with FFX and was so happy that I did, it makes the games so much more enjoyable.
