Noby Noby Boy moves 100,000 units, bowels
This is one of those posts that's all about perception. If we were to tell you that Noby Noby Boy creator Keita Takahashi said the game had sold 100,000 units to date, for example, you might think "Oh, that's a small number, considering the 24 million-unit size of the PS3 install base."
You might say that. But then we'd turn right around and remind you: That means that there are 100,000 people on this beautiful planet who said "Oh, a game about a four-legged worm-like thing that eats things and poops as he collaborates with other worm-like things on interplanetary travel? That's definitely something I'd like to spend the money that I've earned on."
Honestly, it's enough to make us a tear up, just a little.

Paul @ Aug 10th 2009 3:34PM
.01%
Lambrick @ Aug 10th 2009 3:38PM
.001%, actually. so that would actually make me 1 1,00th of 1 percent
Paul @ Aug 10th 2009 3:56PM
I'll take your word on it. I just draw pictures all day. Me and math broke up 11 years ago.
Lambrick @ Aug 10th 2009 4:08PM
math, she is a fickle mistress.
Courtney @ Aug 10th 2009 5:20PM
Word on the street is that math has been acting irrational lately.
Lambrick @ Aug 10th 2009 5:24PM
i've heard that math has made up some imaginary friends, too. sounds to me like the situation is getting a little complex.
Courtney @ Aug 10th 2009 6:29PM
A fellow told me she was going back to her roots looking for a transcendental experience, but just couldn't find the right answer.
tobz1000 @ Aug 10th 2009 7:58PM
STOP IT STOP IT ARGH. Awful maths pun flashbacks from school.
Pdriver @ Aug 10th 2009 3:11PM
They need to add a Deathmatch mode to this game.
schuyler @ Aug 10th 2009 3:15PM
Don't forget that you can also poop the stuff out so hard that it shoots your butt off.
j.howlett @ Aug 10th 2009 3:24PM
then you eat your own butt
tofoomeister @ Aug 10th 2009 3:38PM
...and if that ain't worth $5, I don't know what is.
PSN: Captain__Planet (Not Captain Planet) @ Aug 10th 2009 3:39PM
This game is so fun when your on acid.
Orion @ Aug 10th 2009 3:42PM
Way to go against your own beliefs, Captain Planet.
....5 years of preaching not to do drugs and to take care of the environment...then this.
Blkant @ Aug 10th 2009 3:48PM
Besides why are you playing this game anyways? Isn't captain planet more interested in what goes in the butt instead of what comes out the butt?
Paul @ Aug 10th 2009 3:58PM
DAMN!
DOUBLE DAMN!
karlwulfekote @ Aug 10th 2009 4:07PM
It's also really good on weed... yes I bought it also.
Lambrick @ Aug 10th 2009 4:09PM
wow, i'm even more put off drugs now that i know how one could take acid.
karlwulfekote @ Aug 10th 2009 4:41PM
It's also really good while taking bong hits... yes, I bought it also.
marsh @ Aug 11th 2009 12:03AM
Definitely dude; I ended up playing this game for almost an entire trip on shrooms, hbwr seeds, and a lot of dmt. Well this game flower and flow (also great games in that state).
Nick @ Aug 10th 2009 3:55PM
I bought this game because of the low price point and how ridiculous the concept is. Had fun for a couple hours and haven't played it since.
Orion @ Aug 10th 2009 4:24PM
Likewise. Even compared to Katamari, it is extremely shallow and not at all entertaining.
garnsr @ Aug 10th 2009 4:57PM
I play a little bit every few weeks, but I'm really looking forward to Katamari. I don't regret the purchase, the more people show they're willing to spend a little for something different the better the chances that the PSN will continue to be the place for people who like more than run-of-the-mill shovelware (though I can't wait for Shadow Complex, I hope it makes it to PSN too.)
Chris @ Aug 10th 2009 5:46PM
The thing I like most about this game is that there IS no point. I can just pick it up and muck around for 10 minutes or so just goofing off. The game is actually rather relaxing, and just sitting back and watching all the nutty in-game characters walk around (and then eating them) always bring a smile to my face.
If they added online multiplayer I'd probably be playing it even more.
tobz1000 @ Aug 10th 2009 7:59PM
I'm sure they considered it, but found tangling to be a major problem.
Chris @ Aug 10th 2009 9:55PM
Yeah, I was thinking they could just limit it to 4 per stage. Hell I have tangling problems just playing it with two people! That's part of the fun though, like worming your way through untangling a huge mess of NES controllers.
karlwulfekote @ Aug 10th 2009 7:22PM
I bought it also. It is a trippy, simple, entertaining game. Although I have to admit.. I've only played it for a few hours.
Masami_Eiri @ Aug 11th 2009 9:27AM
Maybe I'm not stoned enough when I play this (which is rather impossible) but I didn't really liked this "thing"...
my favourite "chill out game" is definitely Flower.
