European PSN Video Store announcement coming at Gamescom

Angela Madranero, European PlayStation Store Manager, recently dropped word in the comments section of this EU blog post that the Video Store will be making its way (it's "forthcoming") to the EU PSN. Sony plans on making an announcement at next week's Gamescom, according to Madranero, but, should the rumor about the PS3 Slim be true, we have a feeling the excitement surrounding this will be somewhat diminished.

That's good news, hopefully now people will stop complaining on the US Blog about this every time there is a Video store update.

well stating i'm from Canada and i don't have any interest in a video store for the Canadian Store i'l say this for The Canadians who want one for the Canadian store

As someone who already has a ps3, I think this is way more exciting than a ps3 slim...I mean its not like i need 2 ps3's, as cool as a slim may be.

By "Europe" Sony usually means "UK, France, Germany" and sometimes other countries with a large population...

... Sweden, Portugal and many others hardly get anything at all!!!

European gamers already have to pay more for the games, the consoles and the accessories. And now Sony even manages to make differences inside Europe (Vidzone).

A large population means more money. It's as simple as that.

So I don't have great expectations regarding this video store.
