You won't get Game Over watching this Demon's Souls walkthrough
You'll see the many options for character customization, and the importance of finding the right kind of weaponry, armor and loot. The basics of combat, and a preview of the enemies you'll be fighting are all previewed here. However, like a good tease, Atlus cuts the video before showcasing the unique online features of Demon's Souls. We'll have to wait until the next video to see that one.

I'm still not sold on the game. There's hard difficulty, and then there's being unfair. I heard that when you die you basically have to start the whole dungeon over and you lose your gear + xp you gained, then to top it off people can come into your game and kill you which is just ridiculous.
I'll chalk it up to a "possible rental" for now.

I heard their going to put in a setting where you can't allow people to come in and kill you.
tmacairjordan87 @ Sep 1st 2009 7:00PM
That would probably get me to buy it if they put that feature in. I grew up in the NES and SNES days so I can handle crushing difficulty, but bush league tactics I don't handle well.

One thing I can say is, if you disconnect from the internet, other players won't be able top come in.
So if you hate being TKed or what every you call it, you should definitely cut your internet connections while playing Demons Soul.
Because if you can stand the difficulty, its definitely worth playing! :)
No Kill Tayler @ Sep 1st 2009 7:21PM
Yeah its a cheap fix, but i'd rather be able to co-op play.
You can do that right?
Copland @ Sep 1st 2009 7:50PM
Yeah you can.
The game has a particular kind of coop system,
but you can play coop.

Basically, you get souls from killing monsters, you use souls to level up when at a certain area in the game (the Nexus), if you die at all during a level you lose all of your souls unless you manage to get to the spot you died and touch your bloodstain (which will restore you souls.
Fail to get to the bloodstain alive and all of your souls are gone.
You do NOT lose any equipment or items, only precious precious time...

You don't lose your gear and being in soul mode you have 100% chance of not being ambushed trying to get back to your corpse to secure your souls/exp, but yes the level section does restart with all enemies back alive but any levers pulled will remain pulled. Die again while getting your corse back and the corpse be replace with the last death meaning bye to that corpse souls/exp. Player ambushes only happens to ppl that not in soul form and getting your body back is done by 2 ways - kill another alive person or kill a boss. Soul form chars can only request help only from alive chars. I hope that clarifies anything you've heard.

Sexy voice, i hope your the queen.
On a serious note, this game keeps on giving. I've been striving for s a hard RPG.
For guys who've rented the game, can you beat the game?(As in final cutscene happens.) And can you continue playing?
No Kill Tayler @ Sep 1st 2009 6:55PM
I meant import, my bad.
Xeones25 @ Sep 1st 2009 7:03PM
Yes, you start New Game + which ramps up the difficulty a bit. After that is New Game ++. I'm not sure how far up it goes.
The game isn't too obscenely difficult. You do NOT lose your gear. You do lose all your souls (game's version of money, can be spent on items or leveling), but you can touch the blood mark from your last death and regain all the souls that you lost on that death (can only go back one death, no further). When you are in soul form other people can not invade your game, but while in body form in addition to getting invaded by other players you can also summon other players to your aid. When you die you start from the last portal stone which is basically at the beginning of the map and in the boss room after a boss is defeated (three bosses in each area, other than first).

I've bought the Asian version, got Platinum and traded it for a newly released game.
I will definetly get the game again, and if it has another set of trophies I would do them again with pleasure.
Yes, this game is that good.

Looks awesome!

Great looking game, really boring narrator in the clip.
den-69 @ Sep 2nd 2009 12:53AM
There is no Game Over screen on demon's souls ;-)
lumfan @ Sep 2nd 2009 1:15AM
Wow, i'm almost sold on this one. It's either this or Dragon's Age (or maybe both).
Does anyone know if it has a 'mapping system' or can you return to the "hub" anytime you want?
Kpnda6669 @ Sep 2nd 2009 4:20AM
" This is harsh, evaluate me " ;)
This game is pure gold !
chayot @ Sep 2nd 2009 6:09AM
The games early build (without no patch) have a very annoying exploit with the souls collection.. so you can reach max possible level within an hour.. and when you done this.. it really kill the joy playing this game.. my advise.. never ever be tempted using this exploit... the beauty of this game is this game is really hard and challanging.. and it really take perseverance, patience and full concentrentation... 2 enemies at one spot may killed your character... again and again.. and when they did, you will throw your controller (as you may have carry 60 thousand of souls) puff it's gone..
chayot @ Sep 2nd 2009 6:13AM
yes, there is a miracle (sort of spell) which can transport you back to the save haven, called NEXUS.. with this miracle the souls won't get lost in the teleport, however there's a special rock that have a same function, but the souls will get lost in the process.
