SCEE Platinum line expands, includes Resistance 2, Killzone 2
The European budget line of "Platinum" titles has expanded quite significantly, adding four new titles for the low price of £19.99 / €29.99. The collection now includes Metal Gear Solid 4, MotorStorm: Pacific Rift, Resistance 2 and Killzone 2.
We're a bit jealous of our European friends, as games rarely get the "Greatest Hits" label so soon. Killzone 2, for example, released just a little over six months ago. However, it makes sense to drop the price of these games, especially Killzone 2, so soon -- there are a lot of new PS3 owners out there, hungry to try out the system's greatest games.

Nice Killzone 2 for $30! Sony making the right decisions again for the PlayStation (yeah yeah the PSP GO is still too expensive) brand and making it more valuable to the consumer? I missed you Sony! Now give me God of War 3 and Final Fantasy 13 soon pleeeeease.

I hope the PSP Go get's a price cut before it's released (is that even possible?). Maybe Sony have seen the complaints about the price and will announce a €50 / $?? cut at TGS? I can dream on I guess...

I hope so too dude. It's ridiculous that their portable system that can only play downloadable games is more expensive than the more advanced PS3. I gave my PSP to my little bro so I'm definitely getting a GO if the price is lower than it is now.

30 euro. there's a bit of a difference there.

The PSP Go in general is really worthless, though.

I for one welcome these new players and pity them at the same time.
I shows no MERCY!!!

Too bad no one will buy the platinums because they are SO UGLY.
Exemplar @ Sep 8th 2009 3:45PM
Yes, it is indeed too bad that:
a.) you're wrong.
b.) it doesn't matter what it looks like when you get the same content.
c.) IT'S ALMOST HALF THE DAMN PRICE.
cLanKin89 @ Sep 8th 2009 3:56PM
christ they're hideous. yellow and silver do not go well together
Traceur_Ryuk (PSN: Ryuk_shinigami) @ Sep 8th 2009 3:58PM
Yeah, I agree here. When I buy a game I care about the box art.
den-69 @ Sep 8th 2009 4:17PM
The thing is, in the UK before a platinum version comes out the price usually drops to that of the platinum's price for the proper version.
So anyone with sense would buy the normal case not this.
Indefinite Implosion @ Sep 8th 2009 8:20PM
I agree with the fact the case is ugly as I care about how the box art looks.
But I do what den-69 said; buy it at the platinum price with the original box art :)

Yeah, I'm looking at the Platinum version of MGS4 in my hands. I've had it for months!. Everyone seems to be posting that it's just come out.
Elias @ Sep 8th 2009 5:23PM
I concurr. I've had MGS4 for about 2 months now and it's platinum. Clearly the stiq is out of touch.
