Ya I completely see this being taken the wrong way by mainstream media....yet, I cannot actually decipher what the "right way" would be.

If Fox news tries to scare you with ninjas, will they succeed?
When did America's balls fall off?

Should've been a pirate ship instead of the statue of liberty.

I'm really confused. What was the point of cutting down the Statue of Liberty? What was that supposed to convey? Someone please fill me in.
Mr_Ahh @ Sep 9th 2009 6:10PM
it's trying to show that anyone can blow fire out their ass.
vbshinra @ Sep 10th 2009 12:57PM
in sigma 2 there is going to be a boss battle against the statue of liberty.
Devin @ Sep 10th 2009 1:28PM
Thanks vbshinra. That helps me understand now.

I doubt they'll care. The statue has been attacked and/or come to life in numerous TV shows and movies.
DHewitt @ Sep 13th 2009 3:17AM
They fail to mention that the statue of liberty is a boss in the game. It's not like the game is attacking the US. In the original NG2 it becomes sort of possessed by the power of one of the greater fiends. A scaled down statue of liberty head comes after you and you have to shoot it with the bow (a lot.) Screens for Sigma2 show it fighting as a full statue so I don't know how that will work out. Obviously they have made some changes but maybe you will fight it in two forms. Still, the commercial would probably not be a good idea in the US. ;)

Yes and its not an easy battle... i believe it to be a true tribute. The statue of liberty derives from Libertas, ancient Rome's goddess of freedom from slavery, oppression, and tyranny... freedom... which is why in the game a villain takes control of it, to spit in the face of FREEDOM not america... and in the first boss battle you fight against Buddha does that mean they hate themselves? Before you freak out about something you really should understand the context. Honestly trying to oppress a game by calling it terrorism spits in the face of everything she stands for... read a book sometime
