Sony files trademark for 'TV Superstars'
Looks like SCEA may be working on a brand new multiplayer online game called TV Superstars, as evidenced by a new trademark unearthed by Siliconera. Details are scant beyond the fact that it's both online and a game. Our first guess? It's Sony's attempt at competing against Xbox LIVE's 1 Vs. 100 application (pictured above). With so little information to work with, we can't really offer any other hypotheses.

I still think live video games (1 vs 100) Is a terrific idea. I don't have a Live account so I can't play, but whatever...

Why even bother? they already have BUZZ.

Damn you internet and your slow updating, causing me to actively type a post twice...

Because:
1) Buzz is a $60 game a.k.a not free.
2) You don't win real prizes like you do on 1 vs. 100.
3) There's just something so awesome about having a live audience and a live commenter.
I had a blast playing 1 vs. 100 on XBL so if Sony can bring a similar experience to PS3 users then why the hell not?

I think he is talking about the Buzz Home space, although number 2 is still true unless you care about 2 Buzz T-shirts for your Home character

Maybe it's because I'm not a social gamer, but I see absolutely no appeal in 1 vs 100 on XBL. I don't like having to be on at a certain time (and in a certain place, sorta) to play a game - I kinda just wanna turn my system on when I feel like it and enjoying myself.
Oh well, I'm not hating on it; people can do what THEY want in their spare time. I just hope that if this is like 1 vs 100 as Joystiq (or at least Andrew Yoon) assumes, it doesn't take time and dev hours away from more traditional games.

I love the BUZZ Home Space and the HUGE buzzers and trivia game.

slow news day? or are we just feeling extra ambitious?
garnsr @ Sep 17th 2009 3:39AM
Best Buy has Buzz right now for either $20 or $30, I forget which. I wish they'd update the game again, and get new free questions and players.
But a free online game like 1 vs. 100 would be sort of cool, though I got tired of that pretty quickly.
