NIS localizing Atelier Rorona for English audiences
It's not surprising, but it certainly is welcome news. NIS America is planning on bringing Atelier Rorona to English-speaking audiences. NIS' Allison Walter confirmed to the EU PlayStation.Blog that the company is "working on Atelier Rorona right now" and that "it should be coming out in English and French next year."
For those unfamiliar with the game, Atelier Rorona is a very standard JRPG that's exclusive to the PS3. With this and Final Fantasy XIII, Star Ocean and possibly Tales of Vesperia all coming to Sony's black box next year, JRPG fans will finally be able to say the drought is over.
[Thanks, Marcus N.!]

Aw man! Do you know anyway we can contact the devs Joystiq? You need to tell us, so we can request that they keep the japanese voices (if any). It's really nice to see japanese games doing this those days, since the original voices are muuuuuuuuuch better (I love that in Valkyria Chronicles and Eternal Sonata!). It's nice to see that White Knight Chronicles will be doing that thanks to user feedback too, so we might just make it with Atelier Rorona if we beg enough! :P
Come on guys, let's make they know what we want! (I keep saying 'we' because I think I'm not alone in the 'WANT JAPS VOICE ON MAH GAMES' thingy)

How many NIS games have the option to change to Japanese voices? I have literally never played an NIS game outside of the Atlus published Disgaea, and it has the option to change to Japanese.

This is NIS America we're talking about and one that isn't on the Wii. It'll have both English and Japanese voice acting unless they completely forgo the English dub due to costs. Heck, I think the PSP copy of Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness had both English and Japanese voice over.
Also the game will probably have a lot of goodies if you order it directly from them through the Rosenqueen store.

Good point, I played Disgaea and loved that feature, but I haven't played every single game NIS did, so I didn't know all their games had that option, thanks for the info.

Good news, what little I saw of the game months ago looked great. I'm a sucker for cel-shaded characters done well. :P

Finally console RPGs are coming in. Though some are a bit expensive for my tastes (yesyes, my fault for not wanting to wait on FFXIII, but I want it by this december. And hey, the PS3's region coding won't block Japanese games, so may as well import anyway).

I saw this in GameStop's little "Upcoming Games" book...
Herlock @ Sep 18th 2009 3:09AM
NIS take 3D Dot Game Heroes too, thanks :)

YOu guys also forgot to mention White Knight Chronicles is also slated for 2010, the PS3 went from having no RPGs to tons in a few days, nice!
