Final Fantasy XIII 'Episode Zero' not as exciting as it sounds
When we first saw a promo for Final Fantasy XIII "Episode Zero", we got pretty excited. Could this be a PSP prequel? An anime OVA? A PSN/XBLA playable teaser? Nope, Episode Zero is none of these things.
Instead, Episode Zero is a series of text stories written by Jun Eishima that lead up to the main FF13 story. Unfortunately for most of us, they're currently only scheduled for release on the official Japanese Square Enix website. While we're certain some fans will appreciate these short stories, we think it's a total missed opportunity to cash in on an eager fanbase.

...because gamers hate reading, of course.
Come on, text is fun!

Since many of us don't speak Japanese, how about you translate the stories for us so we can enjoy reading as much as you? :)

I wouldn't be surprised if these got official translations on the US site, nearing the domestic release. However, there will be impatient, if not hopeless-for-their-release, translators, and thus we'll have another case of people who only go by fan-translations that have some inevitable error(s) in them and those who're a tad out of the loop and saw them on their country's site when SQEX gets around to it.
Why am I confident? The "Limited Edition Collector's Set" of FFVIIAC, which has the stories for Barret, Tifa, and Denzel (albeit with etchy italices).
