Sega creating a Fanta-sy Star Portable promotion
When was the last time you picked up a can of Fanta? We can't remember either. Coca-Cola isn't giving up on the fruity beverage, though. They're partnering up with Sega to create virtual Fanta items in the upcoming Phantasy Star Portable 2. We can only assume the reasoning behind this campaign is to let bloggers take advantage of a ridiculously easy pun for use in a headline. Thanks, Coca-Cola for making our jobs a little bit easier.
Fanta will be present at Tokyo Game Show next week, handing out various goodies for trying out the PSP2 demo at the show floor. It would be really smart for them to give away free drinks -- being trapped in a convention center filled with sweaty otaku is bound to make many dehydrated.

Fanta actually seems quite popular in Japan. At first I was surprised to see that the vending machines around my apartment all carried it. I'm a fan of bad puns, so I full support this advertising campaign.

The last time I picked one up was about an hour ago. I love Fanta. I just found out the other day that there's an Apple Fanta. It's SO good.
Just recently read the Wikipedia page for Fanta and was surprised to see the Nazi flag lol. Apparently, it was created in Germany during the Third Reich. Very interesting.
Anyway, I live in Georgia (home of The Coca-Cola Company), so of course I like my Coke-related drinks. ;) For the record, my favorite is Diet Coke. But Fanta comes soon after that.

nice info. i'd love to drink some fanta too. i bet this fanta-sy star portable would be censored on the western market... but who knows maybe they'll replace it with coke or pepsi. lol.
pepsi star portable (wait... that doesn't sound right... more like a singing competition.. phail)

I drink Fanta on a regular basis actually, so I guess Andrew's comment was pretty limited.

I'll be the combo breaker. Haven't had a fanta since my teen years, and even then it was only because it was the only machine that was working. Kinda like a "Hey look a soda machine!!! Oh....it's just RC cola." moment. Fanta isn't bad, I just don't drink it. Probably because all I can ever find is grape and orange, and I don't like either of those flavors for soda.

Fanta Strawberry at Taco Bueno. For those of you in the south, you know what I mean.
Tim @ Sep 19th 2009 9:10PM
Please, I want my Fanta without high fructose corn syrup.
useedems @ Sep 19th 2009 9:40PM
Me too. I want everything without it.
Sobe Green Tea with real sugar...aah. Reminds you of what sugar tastes like.
Tim @ Sep 26th 2009 9:08PM
Heck, I don't want aspartame (yet another sugar substitute and also found in rat poison) in my soda.
schuyler @ Sep 20th 2009 10:12AM
I had an orange fanta last week... although the machine effed up, it was supposed to be a cherry coke
Nook @ Sep 20th 2009 10:41AM
I like Fanta, but I prefer Shasta.

In Turkey and Germany people drink more Fanta than Sprite. (from what i saw)
Even though the Sprite commercials are much better :)
