MGS Peace Walker features two control schemes

We're glad to hear that a new control scheme is being implemented in this second canonical MGS PSP game. The first game had terrific production values, but the controls certainly hampered our enjoyment. We can't wait to try the new Kojima-preferred controls when we get our hands on the downloadable demo at TGS this week.

So hyped for TGS this week! I'm interested in this MGS4 control scheme. The Portable Ops controls sucked IMO, but without a 2nd analog nub and the lack of L2/R2, I can't complain much. I wonder how this will be different.

PO controls were the main reason I did not enjoy it (the 2nd being constantly switching characters and the 3rd was those god-awful cutscenes)... This is great news!

Shooter controls with one analog= Resistance Retribution- No thanks,

what about just giving us a more intelligent camera that doesn't need the other analog stick: MGS3

yeah ... or even MGS1... that game barely required any camera movement, and most of the time you just checked your surroundings by standing still or checking the map. I just hate depending on camera movement on a system that lacks a second analog. PO was awful because of this, and Resistance Retribution suffered the same problem.

Great news, couldn't get into Portable Ops at all due to the crappy controls. I still have my doubts that they can pull off a good control scheme on PSP, but I'm hopeful.

I thought the MGS:PO controls were good in that they Made me slow down- I had to look around everywhere with the camera before sneaking about/planning routes.
...then again, "the Made me slow down" sounds kind of terrible. MGS1 didn't need that (due to the radar). And, I Like Resistance:Retributions controls! (Same with Pursuit Force, or the sequel?)- analog for movement, face-buttons for cursor w/easy-lock on. It's something I wish all not-home-console shooters had (Metroid for DS? I would've enjoyed you. =^\),

I think MGS1 and 2 had the best gameplay. Simple and fun. The sequels all got a little too complicated IMO...

I was surprised that the controls in the PW demo were actually playable until Portable Trash. That's great they're offering more control schemes, seems like Kojima's team has its shit in order for this game.
