Here's that second PSP analog stick you wanted
Tim Magoolaghan is quite the modder and has made a Frankensteinian PSP. Aside from the second analog nub he slapped on this custom PSP-2000, he's also added a built-in camera, 32GB of Flash memory (eliminating the UMD slot) and a dedicated charging port that allows USB charging no matter what the handheld is currently doing. In the video interview where he shows off his creation (video past the break), there's also some emulation stuff going on due to the custom firmware, but we don't condone that kind of thing.
Tim's whole motivation behind this custom PSP is that he wants to show consumers the older model can do wonderful things that the new PSP Go cannot. He says Sony's new device isn't very consumer friendly and while we think he has something there, it's overshadowed by the fact that he's sitting next to the most annoying woman on the planet.
[Thanks, Robin!]

Nice mod only if sony would do something like this.
monkeyninja @ Oct 6th 2009 7:53PM

I wish Sony would have made the USB port that way.....I mean really its NOT that hard....Would LOVE to be able to charge my PSP playing while riding in the car
Tom Kalinske, CEO. @ Oct 6th 2009 5:26PM
It shouldn't be too hard. The Reader uses the exact same charging components (the AC charger is even the exact same model) and it allows you to charge while reading.

"doa-al nubs??!?!?!? O-M-G!!!"
In response to this, I frown.
:(
ThinkIcouldburn @ Oct 6th 2009 5:49PM
Not just that. It's more the fact that they had to poorly edit in that clip to make it seem as if she had any interest at all in this PSP.
Angel Mass @ Oct 6th 2009 6:56PM
It would be better if she sound like climaxing
S. Tiger @ Oct 6th 2009 5:30PM
I was just talking to someone the other day about this...if Sony were to make a PSP2, all they would need to do is add another little analog nub. (But here's hoping they keep UMD support. No way in hell am I getting rid of my Yggdra Union UMD.)
thetveye @ Oct 6th 2009 5:32PM
That chick may be annoying, but damn, is she hot.
Dumbapple @ Oct 6th 2009 5:44PM
You can say that again thetveye.
Anemos @ Oct 6th 2009 7:23PM
Obviously the shock of seeing the second analog stick on a PSP has blinded your eyes.
David Black @ Oct 6th 2009 5:39PM
Did you look at that guys last name? I bet he had a rough childhood.
Riker @ Oct 6th 2009 5:49PM
"Dual nubs! Oh my god!"
Stopped watching there.
Chromekreeper @ Oct 6th 2009 9:18PM
"whats rumble?"
i shook my head right there
ShredinSlash @ Oct 6th 2009 5:50PM
I love how everyone complains bout the 1 analog nub, but just adding a second nub won't do as much as you think/hope. So let's show some love to the R and L buttons! Add R2 R3 L2 L3 to the PSP2, and i'll be happy. The PSP2 would be the ultimate portable console, nothing would beat it cept maybe a portable Xbox, cause everyone would buy it to play "Halo 3: Portable Mini Soldier Dude" or some weird name like that.
S. Tiger @ Oct 6th 2009 6:06PM
That would be the most horrendous setup for a portable device...
It'd probably require six 9-volt batteries lol
Nobledevil @ Oct 6th 2009 5:56PM
Jesus... I could only watch a minute of that video before wanting to pull my g*damn hair out - and my hair is pretty short, so that would be a feat of strength and manual dexterity. What is it with techy videos with loud, bad, annoying trance in the background? Thank goodness for volume control...
Anyway, creating a nerdgasm in handheld hardware form is probably not gonna effect anything. Complaining in a logical fashion and then not buying it is better, but with the PSPgo people seem to only be able to foam at the mouth with hatred.
I guess the whole "if you don't want it don't buy it" credo won't work for the PSPgo - people want to f***ing burn things or make illegal mods and go "SONY COULD DO THIS!"
(Ratedowns, come down from the sky and bathe me in your glorious light!)
Abdo @ Oct 6th 2009 6:00PM
I was actually gonna rate you up since you made a point, until I read your last line.
I'm just going to leave you alone.
sony boy (6 years til sony man child!) @ Oct 6th 2009 6:15PM
this isn't that good. you can buy a 32 gb memory stick pro duo and a camera.
emulators are hacks. dual nubs is the only thing you can't do.
lobotomies4free @ Oct 7th 2009 2:19AM
it's not like his second nub really works in any games anyways. nothing he can play on there was made for those controls
Angel Mass @ Oct 6th 2009 6:55PM
Damn
I hope Sony is taking note of this
Lord Il Palazzo (Previously : Rave Master 2.0) @ Oct 6th 2009 7:21PM
My God... It's beautiful!!! :)
Lord Il Palazzo APPROVES! *2 thumbs up*
Now make it happen, Sony!!! :D
S. Tiger @ Oct 6th 2009 7:46PM
LOL Uh oh.
lokar82 @ Oct 6th 2009 7:47PM
You get +1 just for your name, Lord Il Palazzo!
Levi @ Oct 6th 2009 10:45PM
man, if she's the most annoying girl in the world, then who are these little 14 year old punk girls running around my town... certainly more annoying than this girl. And less hot. AND 14.
Windmill @ Oct 7th 2009 4:01AM
They try to edit it to pretend she knows what the hell she's walking about (doa-al nubs?!?!?!?!) but then have her ask what the feck a RUMBLE feature is.
=/
William @ Oct 7th 2009 6:29AM
If you think she's the most annoying woman on the planet, you haven't met very many of them.
A centered someone @ Oct 7th 2009 8:01AM
Perhaps we can stop complaining about the PSP Go, maybe follow the realistic perspective that no device is meant to be for every kind of consumer out there?
Kudos to the modder though- Even if I cannot tell what the differences in gameplay would be.
...Someone just shoot me, I'm a bad person for liking the PSP Go apparently [/sarcasm]
IcelandTerrorist (stormtrooper190) @ Oct 7th 2009 9:47AM
it looks like a mix of the 2000 and 1000
TuxBobble @ Oct 7th 2009 3:11PM
What I find funny is that he says "The PSP Go" can't do this...
THE DAMN PSP-2000 CAN'T EITHER UNTIL YOU MODDED IT. You could just as well have modded the damned Go and said "it's a revolution, look what it can do that the 2000 can't!"
I mean, the guy MADE the 2000 into a larger Go with analog and CFW. (Took out the UMD drive and replaced it with flash memory)
So...he took the one thing people are MOST complaining about on the Go, lack of UMD, and then he did it ANYWAY. And claims this is what people want.
The emulator is illegal, so saying "aww Sony didn't give it to us" is just moronic. As for CFW, I'm not 100% sure since I've never dealt with it, but doesn't it void warranty? So asking for CFW is retarded as well.
I really can't stand the number of people taking chepa shots at the Go. Personally I have large hands and it's more comfortable for me than the previous models. So I BELIEVE I've just refuted his entire argument...
Add that second analog. Enjoy it. I'll wait for my PSP2 thank you very much. People like the guy in this video just turn me off to the whole idea they're trying to promote. This guy is like Michael friggin Moore to me--he might have had a valid point, but he was such an idiot about it that I just WANT to disagree with him...
Liquid man @ Oct 7th 2009 10:38PM
Now I'm just waiting for Sony to mass produce these and I just MIGHT buy a psp
