Now that Uncharted 2 is out, what first-party exclusives do PS3 fans have to look out for? Well, not much: other than Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time and God of War Collection, the holiday pickings are quite slim. Next year, on the other hand, is a different beast altogether. MAG will represent January, and according to this new trailer from the PlayStation Network, White Knight Chronicles will be ready in February.
Such an early 2010 release should give players a few months time to delve into Level-5's world before Square Enix launches Final Fantasy XIII. That should make Level-5's Yoshiaki Kusada pretty happy, right?
Wow, that's earlier than I expected. Of course, after waiting so long any remotely solid release date is good to hear. C'mon Level-5, remind me why I love you!
Wow OK, White Knight Chronicles is a 1st party exclusive game now? Isn't that strange considering they've developed lots of games for the Nintendo DS?
I mean OK, I'm not one of 'em grammar nazi's that comes in and corrects a post, but damn, calling White Knight Chronicles a 1st-party exclusive is dumb.
Just because its exclusive to a system and its not a timed exclusive doesn't make it a 1st-party game!!!
White Knight Chronicles is first-party because the IP is owned by Sony. Similarly, Heavenly Sword is a first-party Sony game, even though the developer is not owned by Sony and is currently making a multi-platform game.
The import reviews have been very negative even calling WKC the worst Level 5 game to date. The Japanese didn't like it either, and it didn't sell really great, so it kinda puzzles me why they decided to announce a sequel instead of choosing a more popular franchise like Dark Cloud or Rogue Galaxy.
On a more positive note, I've read Level 5 redid A LOT of stuff for the overseas release and I really hope it turns out to be a much better game. I'm also hoping they don't take too long with the European release, it has taken long enough already (1 year and 2 months...).

That would be Level-5's decision to make.

At the same month as SO4 then. Personally I'm a lot more interested in SO than in this, but in the end I'll probabbly get both.

Interesting, I'd never heard that before, thanks for the info!

Yeah, it's because Level-5 worked with SCE Japan Studio on White Knight Chronicles.
Completely forgot about the existence of SCE Japan Studios.
Windmill @ Oct 19th 2009 6:28PM
Yeah I checked it out later and found that Sony of Japan was working on it too. Then I had a "a-ha" moment, like the investigators of the balloon boy.
