Killzone 2 CG intro wins Roses Design award
Axis Animation won a gold award for "Best Use of Animation" for its work on the Killzone 2 CG intro (embedded above). Described as one of the studio's "most ambitious projects," the intro features over three minutes of footage from Vekta to Helghan in one seamless sequence that's free of cuts until the final climatic shot. Director Stuart Aitken is certainly deserving of high praise for setting the stage for one of the PS3's most visually involving games to date.

No matter how much you hated (which ended up being the cool thing to do) or liked KZ2; you have to admit that this was a sweet ass Intro.

Usually when I play KZ2 I at least watch that video until Visari stops talking. Beautiful stuff - well, the art itself, not Visari.

I think it's funny how he has green eyes in the intro and I think blue eyes in the end of the game. If they did that on accident they might have to pull a Kojima and somehow put that in the story making it five times more confusing and five times more awesome.

LOVE Killzone2... I wish it gotten the Halo/COD like popularity it rightfully deserved. I PERSONALLY think its much better than Halo, and about the same as COD. Even becoming PS3's console selling FPS would have been enough.. I blame the damn awful advertising, and even that VERY little of.

Decent job in the CG, but it when I first watched it before I started the game something struck me odd. Lazy programmers most likely for it since if you've watched it, just ignore the camera pan back between the two walking out into the opening and pay close attention to Col. Templar...
You'll notice then that he just.. stands there like a statue while everyone is moving about. The programmers could have had him walk off screen or blend into the crowd and disappear, but no. Like a card board cut out him becomes.
Also, I write this again like I wrote it on that trailer of 'Avatar'. Why didn't they just use ORBITAL BOMBARDMENT? They have computers right? Planning the trajectory of simple house size rocks wouldn't be that difficult would it? Heck, a rock the size of an SUV dropping from space is equivalent of a multi Ton Explosion and instead of just silly energy like Nukes, those babies will hit with MASS.
Things to think about when wandering the Empty streets of any "sci-fi" Fps.

wow makes me want to pick up the game

Best Intro ever!. I wish I was in charge of its marketing, I would of done a much greater job!. Regardless, best FPS I've ever played this generation!.

The intro is awesome, but the credits sequence is badass.
