Worldwide PS3 releases for the week of January 25th

Hi Europe. Welcome to October 2008. Rock Band 2's out now. Finally. At least you don't have to wait for all the downloadable content, that's been kept nicely up to date thanks to its compatibility with Rock Band 1. In the US two new games are seeing release and, as usual, Japan is playing catch up. Here's the full release list:

Don't forget PS3 games are region free, so feel free to go ahead and import any game from this list. The only caveat is that any DLC will need to be purchased from the respective PSN Store, which could be a problem. Release dates are constantly subject to change, so be sure to check with your local retailer.

Worldwide PS3 releases for the week of January 18th

EA continues its January release schedule with Skate 2 which, no doubt, will be a bit better than Lord of the Rings: Conquest turned out to be. Hopefully. Asia continues to play catch-up, as ever, with Prince of Persia and WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2009. Here's the full release list:

PS3 games are region free. Not that it matters this week, but if you're feeling particularly barmy you could always import a version of Skate 2 from abroad. It'll still work. Though any downloadable content would need to be downloaded from the appropriate region's PSN Store, so it's probably best not to. Release dates are constantly subject to change, so confirm with your local retailer before you leave the house.

American PSN releases for January 15th

Lord of the Rings: Conquest releases worldwide this week, while Japan plays catch up with games like Fallout 3 and GRID. This is just a tease, then the craziness begins with two months of massive releases like Street Fighter IV, Killzone 2 and Resident Evil 5. It'll be like Christmas all over again. What exactly were you expecting? It's new year's week, which means no games. Are you really done playing through all the great games that came out over the last four months? European PSN releases for December 24th

Merry Christmas from SCEE. Today's update brings three full games, three demos, the normal extreme amounts of music-based DLC and, of course, the LittleBigPlanet Metal Gear Solid pack. There are also a bunch of price drops on some excellent PSN games (though, is it just us or has WipEout HD always been that price..?). Savage Moon is good fun, particularly if you're a tower defense fan. There's also a ton of PSP content, which you can check out over at PSP Fanboy. Here's the full release list:

American PSN releases for December 23rd

The waiting's finally over. Today's biggest release is easily the LittleBigPlanet Metal Gear Solid downloadable content, but there's plenty of other stuff to take a look at today. Not least of which is Lumines Supernova. There's also a load of the normal music-based DLC, plus some unexpected content for Disgaea 3. As if that wasn't enough, the PS1 classic RPG Suikoden also finds its way onto the Store today. What an awesome holiday gift. Here's the full release list:

Merry Christmas, Japan! While the Western world grows fat on its own laziness (not to mention a massive amount of Christmas food) Japanese game stores remain open to sell five new great PS3 games. What's that strange smell, you ask? That's our pure, unadulterated jealousy. We really want to play White Knight Chronicles. Here's the release list:

In case you're wondering, your PS3 is region free. So, yes, you can import White Knight Chronicles if you so wish. We're not sure if it's the sort of game that will get downloadable content, but if it does you'll have to get it from the Japanese PSN Store. Tempting though, isn't it?

This may be the longest list we've had to type up and, though there's plenty of stuff you keep you busy til next week, there is one glaring omission in the list. Where's Lumines Supernova? Nevermind, we're sure it will be with us soon. European PSN update for December 11th

It seems the EU PSN Store is having a few difficulties at the moment. It was working for a few minutes, but seems now to be unavailable. Here's what you can expect to see when the Store is back up and working properly. Those of you expecting Street Fighter or Soldner-X will be disappointed, but we do have the worldwide debut of Astro Tripper. SCEE is catching up by finally releasing Puzzle Quest over here, but we thought game releases were supposed to be simultaneous nowadays? Here's the full release list:
