Asian PSN update for the week of 1/19 - 1/25

There is only one noteworthy item in this week's update, and that is a trailer from Capcom's closed theater at last year's Tokyo Game Show. It's not the first time non-TGS goers could have gotten a peek at this potentially spoilerific footage; however, this is the first chance to watch it in HD ... over and over again at one's leisure. So go grab it if you've got an account.

Guitar Hero gets free Bruce Springsteen DLC ... limited time only!

Have Guitar Hero World Tour? Then you'll want to log on to the PlayStation Store next Tuesday or Wednesday for a surprise FREE DLC update. The Bruce Springsteen pack will feature two songs: the classic "Born to Run" and his new single, "My Lucky Day." The surprise Tuesday update coincides with Bruce's latest album release, "Working On A Dream."

Make sure you grab it as soon as possible. Put it in your calendar so you don't forget, because the DLC will become a premium pack on Thursday, February 5th, and it will cost $3.99. Don't let your tardiness cost you $4, okay?

See a video of "Born to Run" after the break.

European PSN releases for January 15th

Today's update isn't bad. Certainly not as bad as last week's, but there's something missing. Maybe it's the lack of LittleBigPlanet DLC (which is promised to start again next week), or maybe it's the lack of Street Fighter II HD, Penny Arcade and Lumines. What we do have are two demos, plenty of DLC and Creat Studio's fourth title, Magic Ball. It also appears that Europe is finally able to download all the High Velocity Bowling DLC that America has been hoarding for months now. Here's the full list:

Playable Content
  • Magic Ball full game (£7.99)
  • Dead Space demo
  • Skate 2 demo
Add-on Content
  • WWE Smackdown Vs Raw 2008 roster update (£3.19)
  • 3x Shaun White Snowboarding add-on packs (2x £3.99, 1x free)
  • Brain Challenge expansion pack (£2.39)
  • Rock Band DLC (listed after the break)
  • Guitar Hero World Tour DLC (listed after the break)
  • High Velocity Bowling DLC (listed after the break)

A new Flock trailer for now, Ultimate Ghosts and Goblins later

Capcom has released a new Flock trailer via the PlayStation Blog. Yes, it's as adorable as you'd expect. Just in case you've forgotten they also take the time to reiterate that the game will feature over 55 levels, 2-player co-op, a level editor, trophies and custom soundtracks. Hopefully we'll be seeing the game release pretty soon.

Retro PSP fans will also be glad to hear that Ultimate Ghosts And Goblins will be released on the PSN Store this week for $19.99. Check out PSP Fanboy for the official trailer.

Asian PSN update for the week of 1/5 - 1/11

Updates for the PS Store restarted this past week. So what went on over at Asia's digital shop? Not much, actually. There are a few free videos and a demo to be had on the Japanese Store. Meanwhile, Hong Kong/Singapore finally get the new downloadable Street Fighter game. Check after the break for the skinny.

You can catch the weekly Asian PS Store update every Sunday, while you can still enjoy EU and NA updates every Thursday. For PSP-related content, please check PSP Fanboy.

European PSN store update for January 8th

Not a massive update today. A hand full of add-ons and videos arrive alongside the Lord of the Rings: Conquest demo. For the first week since its launch we've a lack of LittleBigPlanet DLC, though the PlayStation Blog promises there's plenty more to come in 2009. Here's the full release list:

Add-on Content
  • Tom Clancy's EndWar "Faction Elite Pack" (£3.19)

Skate 2 demo arrives on PlayStation Store next week

EA's Skate 2 will be arriving on the PlayStation Store next week. Strange, considering the demo is available on Xbox Live this week. Maybe EA is playing console favorites again? (PSN has been home to demos of Lord of the Rings Conquest, The Simpsons Game and others earlier than on Xbox Live.) Regardless of the one week delay, PS3 fans can expect a lot to do in the demo, especially as it includes access to two online "Party Play" modes: Thrasher's Hall of Meat and Spot Battle.

Asian PSN update for the week of 12/22 - 12/28

Massive update for Asia this week. Lots of new content, including all that awesome LittleBigPlanet DLC that's been the talk of the town these past weeks. There's also a WipEout HD demo out on the Japanese store right now. So if you haven't played it yet, now would be a good time to check it out for free. Oh, and did we mention there's a bunch of new PSOne titles, too? See the full update for this week after the break.

You can catch the weekly Asian PS Store update every Sunday, while you can still enjoy EU and NA updates every Thursday. For PSP-related content, please check PSP Fanboy.
