Worldwide PSP releases for the week of January 25

Oh goody, we're getting a game this week. And, it's not just any game; it's a really good one. It's also a really [explicit delete]-ing difficult title. We're of course talking about DJ Max Fever, which we're so dearly hoping won't be pushed back at the last minute -- like last time.

Please Asia, stop gloating. It's getting rather annoying.

Worldwide PSP releases for the week of January 18

You know, come to think of it, the universe of PSP game releases is a lot like our very own ocean of stars up beyond the sky. They're like those twinkling balls of gas, so many of them, so many out of reach and so many that are far in between. But when one reaches for that one star they call their own, it's magical.

Asian Games: ... Apparently, the skies over Asia are more blessed.

Worldwide PSP releases for the week of January 12

Yeah, you guessed it. Go back to sleep.

The only game out this week is Asia's budget release of SEGA Rally Revo. There's not much else to say about nothing, so we'll leave it at that.

PSP games to look for in 2009

PSP has no games? WRONG. The dreadful PSP games drought is over, my friends. 2009 has barely begun, and we already know of more than a dozen titles to look for this year. And trust us, there are even more games coming that just haven't been announced. LocoRoco 2, Resistance Retribution, Phantasy Star Portable, Dissidia ... the list keeps on going. In fact, it keeps on going here.

The industry is still in vacation mode, hence the reason for this lackluster list below. All that's out this week is a budget release of an old Gundam game. January is going to be a slow month; however, expect the latter part to be packed with some heavy titles.

Worldwide PSP releases for the week of December 28

There are no new games coming out this week. This shouldn't come as a surprise since New Year's is just around the corner. We'll see the return of new titles come next month. For now, it's time to catch up on all the other titles you might have put off playing during the year.

Also, don't forget to make a good New Year's resolution! We have one in mind for Sony. Can you guess what that is?

Worldwide PSP releases for the week of December 21

With Christmas just a few days away, we're not surprised to see little to nothing releasing this week. And you know, this dry spell of holiday releases is somewhat of a blessing in disguise, actually. You see, the holiday season isn't about games and gifts; it's about spending time with the family and wishing you'd leave them again soon after. So put down the games (or don't because there are none for PSP) and make sure you make time for the people that matter most.

Across the ocean in Asia, they're really enjoying the commercial aspect of the season. At least over here, we're shedding materialism and embracing family values. Asia could seriously learn a lot from us.

Deal of the Day: Space Invaders Extreme for $10

Want a cheap stocking stuffer for a PSP owning friend? Well, Space Invaders Extreme might fit the bill. GameStop stores are selling it for only $10. It launched at $20, and that was already a bargain. Now, at $10, there's little excuse not to have it in your collection. It is a difficult game, though -- read our review to find out more.

Quick, everyone! Let's all move to Asia. You'll see why we say this in the next second or so ...

Amazing week for Asia, er, Japan we mean. There are nine new titles hitting the market, no doubt to cash in on a late Christmas shopping buzz. Though there are a lot of games out this week for Japan, we'd have to say we're a lot about getting our hands on Dissidia.

Worldwide PSP releases for the week of December 7

Dungeon Maker II: The Hidden War is coming to town this week. The first title didn't really penetrate the PSP crowd by much, but here's hoping for round two. It's the only title to release this week in North America, while Europe continues its empty Christmas. Sorry, but you know what this means right? Another plug for Oliver Twist like last week.

EU Games:

Asian Games:
Asia isn't doing too well for itself either. Two out of its three titles are PSP re-releases; however, Zwei!! does look great. Anyway, next week is the week folks. Look out for that.

Worldwide PSP releases for the week of November 30

What?! More?! You wanted more PSP games didn't you? Well it looks like that's not happening this week. It seems that Europe and North America are kicking December off with an empty bowl for young Oliver there. Poor lad.

Asian Games:
Asia gets LocoRoco 2 after Europe got it a while back. North America won't get the brand-new blobs until much later, though that very thought baffles us. With such a barren holiday list for PSP, you'd think LocoRoco 2 would have been a prime candidate for the shopping season in North America.

Get ready for Black Friday deals [Update]

The good folks at Cheap Ass Gamer have crafted a list of all video game-related Black Friday deals. For those not in the know, Black Friday is the term used for post-Thanksgiving sales. These are usually when retailers make their best prices available, as they all compete for early Christmas shopping attention. We've scrubbed the list to show only PSP deals, but make sure you check out CAG for the full list, especially if you own more than just a PSP.

Worldwide PSP releases for the week of November 16

It's another solid week for PSP releases. It's a choice of snowboarding or drag racing for North American gamers. Europe has a bit more diversity with three very different titles out this week.

Asian Games:
As for Asia ... they've got exploding demon penguins and giant suits of mobile armor. Secret Agent Clank is also making its Japanese debut.
