Asian PSN update for the week of 1/19 - 1/25

Japan is gearing up for several new titles like Resistance: Retribution and Tenchu 4 which is why we're seeing some nice, free content regarding those titles. As for Hong Kong ... we could've sworn we've seen these wallpapers show up before. Is it just us or are we going loco and experiencing a case of deja vu?

American PSN releases for January 22nd

Today's American PSP store update is pretty small. It pretty much consists of a Resistance Retribution trailer which, while good, isn't quite as exciting as the collection of games that went up on the European store this week. There are also some premium themes but, well, who would pay for something like that. Here's the list:
  • Resistance Retribution story trailer
  • 19x premium PSP themes ($0.99 to $1.49)

European PSN releases for January 22nd

Pretty big update for Europe today. Lots of downloadable games, including Everyday Shooter, Tom Clancy's EndWar and even a couple of random PS1 titles. Prices range from "impulse buy" to "forty quid, really?" As for Everyday Shooter no-one should pass up such an excellent game for this price. Especially if you never played it on PS3. Here's the full release list:
  • Tom Clancy's EndWar full game (£39.99/€49.99)
  • Riff: Everyday Shooter full game (£6.29/€7.99)
  • EA Replay full game (£15.99/€19.99)
  • Super Pocket Tennis full game (£7.99/€9.99)
  • Disney's Action Game Featuring Hercules PS1 game (£3.99/€5.99)
  • The Little Mermaid II PS1 game (£3.99/€5.99)

Asian PSN update for the week of 1/12 - 1/18

It's all about PSOne classic titles this week, though none of these games really pop out as must-have imports. Biohazard 3 came out previously on the Japanese store, so that one doesn't count. All in all, it's not much but it's certainly better than what Europe got this week. Zing!

American PSN releases for January 15th

Short and sweet update today. Ultimate Ghosts And Goblins arrives as promised but, if you'd rather not spend any money, there's a Buzz! Master Quiz demo for you to check out too. Plus, the latest episode of Pulse will show you what's what on the world of the PlayStation Network. Even though this particular episode doesn't even mention the PSP. Oh well. Here's the release list:
  • Ultimate Ghosts And Goblins ($19.99)
  • Buzz! Master Quiz demo (free)
  • Pulse January 15th episode (free)

Super Stardust Portable theme now available on the EU PSP Store

Yeah, that's it we're afraid. Just one measly little theme. We're sure it's a lovely theme, but while Americans will be nomming on Ultimate Ghosts And Goblins today (plus who knows what else?) Europeans will have little more to do than redecorate their XMB. Still, they've been enjoying Loco Roco 2 for about a month now, so maybe this is their comeuppance? Just to reiterate, today's European PSP store update contains: a Super Stardust Portable theme. Don't be too disheartened though, at least it's free.

Ultimate Ghosts and Goblins available on the PSP Store this week

Capcom has announced, via the PlayStation Blog, that Ultimate Ghosts And Goblins will be released on the American PSP store this Thursday. Ultimate Ghosts And Goblins is the latest in the Ghosts And Goblins series that began on the NES and now features 3D graphics on top of the traditional 2D sidescrolling gameplay. You'll be able to grab it for $19.99 once it releases during this week's PSN update. We'll be sure to let you know what else is released alongside it, as usual.

If you're intrigued and haven't seen the game in action before check out the video above.

Asian PSN update for the week of 1/5 - 1/11

The store updates are back; however, they're not back with a bang. It's actually quite the opposite. A single full game appears on the Hong Kong/Singapore store, while Japan gets a few free videos. Not the most exciting way to kick off 2009, but it's a start.

PS3 and PSP versions of UNO coming to PlayStation Network

The popular card game UNO is getting PS3 and PSP adaptations, courtesy of GameLoft. The two versions will be available on the PlayStation Store. Both versions will be available some time this year.

Michel Guillemot, president of Gameloft, said: "UNO is one of the most recognized card games in the world and we are excited to extend it beyond mobile and onto a whole host of console executions."

[Thanks, David B.!]

European PSN releases for January 8th

Today's PSN update brings PSP owners a couple of new games to download, as well as some more map packs for Go!Explore. There's also a trailer for a game that no-one cares about. Everything seems a little expensive for our tastes, but thanks to the weak pound, Europeans are probably getting a good deal. Here's the full release list:
  • Free Running full game (£15.99)
  • FlatOut Head On full game (£9.99)
  • Go!Explore Europe map pack (£31.99)
  • Go!Explore North America map pack (£24.99)
  • Go!Explore Russia map pack (£15.99)
  • Brain Challenge trailer

Asian PSN update for the week of 12/22 - 12/28

You can catch the weekly Asian PS Store update every Sunday, while you can still enjoy EU and NA updates every Thursday. For PS3-related content, please check PS3 Fanboy.

European PSN releases for December 24th

Okay, Europe. It looks like SCEE is trying to make things up to you for being a day late with your PSN update. Sure, America got its hands on Suikoden yesterday, but you've got five full games to choose from. Dead Head Fred is the best of the bunch, though it's sadly the most expensive, too. Fighting game fans will be in heaven with Street Fighter Alpha Warrior's Dreams as well as Guilty Gear Judgement to choose from. Here's the full release list:
  • Street Fighter Alpha Warriors' Dreams PS1 game (£4.79/€5.99)
  • Guilty Gear Judgement full game (£9.99/€12.99)
  • Dead Head Fred full game (£15.99/€19.99)
  • Off Road Racing full game (£9.99/€12.99)
  • Pipe Mania full game (£9.99/€12.99)
  • Star Ocean First Departure trailer
  • Loco Roco 2 "Retro Notes" wallpaper
  • Loco Roco 2 "Retro Circles" wallpaper
  • Loco Roco 2 "Retro Planet" wallpaper
  • Loco Roco 2 "Retro Squares" wallpaper

PS1 classic Suikoden now available on the US PSN Store

Just one new item on the US PSN Store today, but it's a good'n. If you're an RPG fan and a retrophile then you'll no doubt be thrilled with the release of Suikoden onto the PSN Store. This great (if schizophrenic) JRPG will set you back $5.99. It's a pretty rare find nowadays, so it's good to see that it's being made available via digital distribution. This is how it should be; PS1 classics preserved in time via the PlayStation Network. Real classics. Not Reel Fishing.

Asian PSN update for the week of 12/15 - 12/21

Star Strike Portable -- aka Super Stardust Portable -- was all that really mattered this past week in Asia as far as downloading off the PS Store is concerned. It has been a pretty uneventful week this time; there are no PSOne titles to be jealous of. Hooray.

You can catch the weekly Asian PS Store update every Sunday, while you can still enjoy EU and NA updates every Thursday. For PS3-related content, please check PS3 Fanboy.

American PSN releases for December 18th

We suspect Sony might be making up for something with today's update. Instead of just coming out and saying "we're sorry, we love you!" Sony has spoken to us through games. Three of them, to be precise, and all of them worth grabbing. There's also the add-on pack for Super Stardust Portable, along with a couple of videos and a theme. Here's the full release list:
  • Castlevania Chronicles PS1 game ($5.99)
  • Rayman 2: The Great Escape PS1 game ($5.99)
  • Tokobot full game ($9.99)
  • Super Stardust Portable Solo Pack Add-On ($4.99)
  • PSN "T-Shirt" TV Spot video
  • PSN "Mural" Spot
  • Super Stardust Portable Theme
