Sega releases new Phantasy Star Portable trailer

What would one expect from a game called Phantasy Star Portable? Well, dear reader, if you answered "a portable Phantasy Star game," you win. Sega's bringing the upcoming PSP-exclusive Phantasy Star Portable to America and Europe. This follow-up to Phantasy Star Universe features a brand new story and tons of missions. But, there's one problem. Where's the Infrastructure support?

Phantasy Star Portable arrives in the US this March.

Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings trailer unleashed

LucasArts has just released the very first trailer for the upcoming Indiana Jones game, The Staff of Kings. This all-CG trailer says proudly mentions the Wii, but don't be fooled. The PlayStation logos are there because this game's also coming to PSP. We don't see any hint at gameplay in this trailer, but it's good to see that this project is alive and well.

Atlus brings another PSP game stateside: Class of Heroes

Are you ready for another JRPG? Atlus is bringing over a PSP-exclusive dungeon-crawler this April called Class of Heroes. The game is all about character customization: with 10 races to choose from, there are "over 500 character possibilities." Atlus is promising up to 80 hours of gameplay, with over 1300 items to discover over 75 maps. Alchemy is a key part of the game, encouraging players to create their own items.

Resistance Retribution: to infect, or not to infect?

Want to know what Resistance Retribution looks like when you infect it with Resistance 2? GameTrailers has posted an interesting comparison video, showing the subtle (and not-so-subtle) differences that occur when you play with an infected copy. When your game is infected, you'll have access to a new health system (regeneration), and gain access to areas that won't be available to regular players. Watch the video, after the cut.

Strike First. Strike Hard. New Dynasty Warriors trailer

Koei's Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce is only two months away. At CES, the company projected its new Strikeforce trailer for the masses to see. Now, you can see it too. This trailer showcases the high-flying action of the button masher. It's predictably Dynasty Warriors, but that's not such a bad thing -- especially when you can take it on the go.

Tenchu 4 PSP trailer showcases plenty of ninja action

From Software just released a Japanese trailer for the PSP version of Tenchu 4 and it has everything one would expect from a game of the stealth-action franchise. Check it out after the jump -- badass ninjas sneaking around at night, check. Villain with a maniacal laugh, check. Blades piercing various people, check. Damsel in distress, check. The graphics also look like they haven't suffered a downgrade compared to the Wii version. Still no word yet on a US release.

And last but not least, the trailer confirms the inclusion of kittens in the game. Is it too early to crown Tenchu 4 GOTY?

Dissidia's ridiculously epic intro movie

Dissidia has graced Japan and it won't be long until the rest of the world will be able to join in. As expected, the CG intro to the Final Fantasy mash-up is epic -- perhaps more so than we could have possibly imagined. Watch all the heroes and villains battle in one super-battle will make any fanboy or girl squeal. Fanfic writers, this is the stuff of legends.

Check it out, after the break.

Mytran Wars coming to US in 2009, new trailer released

Ready for some strategy action on your PSP? Good, because Mytran Wars may just fit the bill. A new trailer has been released for this PSP-exclusive game, and it's just super-exciting. Maybe it's the heart-thumping music -- or maybe it's because a game is actually coming out on our system (shock!). We're glad to see some support coming our way.

Check out some new screenshots in our gallery, and enjoy the trailer.

Update: Mytran Wars was originally supposed to come out in 2008. It has since been delayed to 2009.

Direct-feed Kingdom Hearts trailer, direct from DVD

Square Enix sure has a lot of love for the PSP. In addition to the next Parasite Eve game, and a brand new Final Fantasy XIII game, PSP will also be receiving a new Kingdom Hearts game as well. A recent trailer rip has hit the web, and now you can watch in glorious direct-feed. No more off-angle shaky-cam for you, folks. Check it out, after the break.

[Thanks, Edwin A.P.!]

Direct-feed: FF Agito & 3rd Birthday trailers

It's a Square Enix media explosion! A few days ago, trailers for PS3's Final Fantasy XIII and Versus XIII made their way into the loving arms of the internet. Now, it's the PSP's turn. Check out trailers for these two upcoming PSP-exclusive games: Final Fantasy Agito XIII and The 3rd Birthday, after the break.

Who doesn't want an overacted Prinny trailer?

Some cheese can be good. Especially on a cracker. However, the cheese offered by this Prinny trailer is of a different, slightly nuttier variety. The fine folks at NIS are bringing Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero over to the States, and they're bringing it in the usual over-the-top Disgaea style. Somehow, NIS is not only able to get away with terrible voice acting, but manages to turn it into an art. Check out the video, after the break.

Ad: Canada plays PSP

Wow, another ad for PSP? Did Sony spend money by accident? In Canada, of all places? This is a rather interesting ad for the PSP, but watch out for the music. It's pretty catchy, but we can see why it could bug a few people. Check out the ad after the break. It highlights all of Canada's landmarks. Wait, Canada has landmarks? We kid, of course.

[Thanks, G. Sifuentes!]

Yes, you can make custom replays in Dissidia

Did you like Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children? Well, Square Enix is giving you a chance to summon the inner film director in you in their upcoming fighting game, Dissidia. Your fights can be dramatically choreographed and then edited through the in-game replay editor. Watch this example video of Cloud and Sephiroth doing what they do best -- beating each other to a pulp -- to see the editor in action.

Japan's latest LocoRoco 2 commercial makes us smile

Why can't we have more ads like this? It's so simple, yet so fun. It's sort of like being LocoRoco the game itself, in a sense. We can't help but smile and feel happy after watching this. It's so silly. Oh, and in case you were just wondering, LocoRoco 2 hit Japan today. That's news to everyone but our European readers, of course. They're too busy playing the darn thing to notice.

Download Dissidia themes for your PSP

Dissidia: Final Fantasy is out in two weeks, but Square Enix is already offering some sweet, free content. If you love collecting themes for your PSP, then you'll want to download the three that are available off the official Dissidia website. The three themes correspond to the first three Final Fantasies; each theme features their respective hero/villain combination.

Just remember -- in order to transfer the files to your PSP -- hook up your PSP to your PC via USB cable and enter USB mode. Then open up the folder "PSP" and then "Themes." Just drag-and-drop it there. Now your themes are good to go. Also, after the break, check out a vid detailing how the game's story mode progresses.
