Biggest Disappointment (12 of 19)
Biggest Disappointment
PlayStation Home
London Studios | Sony Computer Entertainment
Many readers seem to think "disappointment" and "bad" are synonymous. They're not. Some things can still be great, but fail to meet the lofty expectations placed upon them. All the nominees in this category fit the description and perhaps no other thing this year has had the incredible expectations of PlayStation Home. Gamers and journalists were excited about the possibilities of Sony's virtual world when it was unveiled at GDC two years ago. However, the open beta has failed to capitalize on all the potential that Home could offer. Perhaps 2009 will fare better for Home, but when looking at 2008, this is easily the biggest disappointment on PS3 this year.
Reader's Choice: Haze
"haze by far. it was supposed to have some great story with tons of dialog written by real writters - the dialog in the demo made me want to throttle those writers. it was plain awful. everything about this game underperformed." - scratch

I was disappointed in your decision on this one until I read your explanation. Good rundown on the difference between "bad" and "disappointing".

I disagree. Sony gave us exactly what they said they would: A social environment for gamers. Everything else that didn't make it into the beta was never stated by Sony. If people read only official press releases, they will not be disappointed. (I do find Home slightly boring, though)
