Supersonic Battle Cars European release delayed another week

First the LittleBigPlanet DLC gets delayed, now Battle Cars. At this rate this week's European PSN update will consist of little more than a trailer or two. If we're lucky.
Rocket Powered Battle Cars race into Europe Jan. 22
Regardless of name length, the title is coming out in Europe this upcoming January 22. Psyonix Studios posted a discreet update on their website stating that the game would drop in during next week's PS Store update. So there you have it. It's time for Voitures Acrobatiques de Bataille!

Battle Cars details, price and date revealed

Battle Cars will feature trophy support, YouTube uploading, custom soundtracks, online leaderboards and online voice chat. There will also be a video editor within the game, giving you lots of advanced options to edit the footage in-game, including adding slow motion to replays. Offline, the game will support 4 players, while online will support 8. Multiple players on a single PS3 can play together in online matches, so two PS3s with 4 players on each is entirely possible.
The game will launch with three maps, though more will follow. There's also the possibility that some DLC may be free,
[UPDATE] Hagewood has confirmed that there will be free maps to download in the future.
Trophies: Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars
The more we see this ridiculous title, the more we fall in love with it. Here are the Trophies you can unlock in the PSN-exclusive Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars.

The Psyonix guys are incredibly proud of their game's title. Just look at the new trailer for their PS3-exclusive Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars. It has tones of that crazy Duke Nukem trailer from E3 -- but with more gameplay. Strangely, the visuals look rather solid in this PSN game. Maybe it's because of the team's heritage with working on the Unreal Engine.
Joystiq hands-on: Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars
Running on Unreal Engine 3 (in fact, Psyonix was responsible for the popular Onslaught game type in the Unreal Tournament series) the game is, by both the developer's account and our own, a mix of car combat and soccer. Strange, we know, but it all makes sense – and looks quite fun – when the action commences.

When you have a title as long as Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars, you don't really want to make an even-longer headline. This PSN-exclusive brings multiplayer arcade car-battling to the PS3, and we're in shock -- we were actually surprised at how fun this looks! With Trophy and YouTube support, we're going to pay closer attention to this potential gem in the PSN library.
Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars races towards PSN with Trophies and YouTube support
The game will feature extensive stats tracking, ranking and rewards. However, more exciting is the announcement of popular features, like Trophy support and the ability to record gameplay directly to YouTube. It's great to see third party developers starting to take advantage of the various capabilities of the PS3.
Humorously, Dave Hagewood, Director of Development at Psyonix Studios talked in a press release: "Thankfully, we don't have to worry about fitting this title on a package."
