Number of titles supported by adhocParty increased again

The newest update to Sony's Japanese application that allows AdHoc play to now function over the internet via the PS3 is now available. adhocParty 1.04 add many titles to the mix, bringing the number of games supported by the service to over 100. In addition to bringing support to games that have co-op play, even games like Echochrome were included -- meaning you can now trade levels on the web. For details on how to access the service from US, check out the guide here.

Sony reveals 33 titles for Japan's adhocParty
Japan's adhocParty service sounds like a promising new feature. The ability to transform one's local ad hoc multiplayer games into an over-the-net experience via a PS3 is certainly something we have to give credit to Sony for. However, what games are compatible with the service? Quite a lot really -- 33 to be exact, as Sony reveals. That's not bad for a completely free service. See a full list of all 33 titles after the break.
How to access the adhocParty from the US
Those of you who are eager to try the adhocParty application we reported on last week are in luck, sort of. The good news is, gamers outside of Japan can also test out the service that lets PSP games with local AdHoc play to function over the internet via the PS3. The bad news is, you'll need:
- a PSP and PS3 with the latest firmware
- the PS3 must have Wi-Fi capabilities (any PS3 except for the 20GB SKU)
- the PS3 must be connected online with an ethernet cable and not a wireless connection
- a Japanese PSN account
- a game that works with the service; the only game confirmed so far is Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G
Sony gets the adhocParty beta started in Japan
The beta for adhocParty, a Japanese service that allows PSP games with local AdHoc play to now function over the internet via the PS3, was launched today. The service currently only works with Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G, but Phantasy Star Portable is next in line. Those of you with access to a PS3 and the Japanese PSN can download the application now -- according to PSPHyper, it works in the US. A video of how it works, after the jump.
