Now that Barack Obama's officially the President of the United States some things are going to change. First up? A new Buzz! Quiz TV pack that focuses on American Culture will be released on the American PlayStation Store this Thursday. See? Big, life altering changes.
The question pack will contain 500 questions "covering everything from national history to U.S. icons." Buzz! 'Underwater Life' question pack arrives tomorrow
Okay, we got it wrong. We knew there was some amazing downloadable content arriving tomorrow, but we mistakenly thought it was that (now mediocre seeming) Metal Gear Solid LittleBigPlanet stuff. It's only now we realize that the true megaton of tomorrow's pre-Christmas PSN update is the new Buzz! Quiz TV question pack. The National Geographic: Undersea pack adds 500 questions based solely on underwater wildlife and the oceans of the world. At the moment it's only confirmed for release on the US store.Perfect for the holidays, right? What's more festive than fish?
PS3 Fanboy review: Buzz! Quiz TV

In preparation for the PS3 game, we familiarized ourselves with the earlier PS2 versions of the game. While they were fun party games, we hated the frustrating process of detangling all the wires from our PS2 buzzers. Thankfully, we're able to get rid of those tacky peripherals with this new package. Simply open the Buzz! box, insert the wireless dongle into the system and put AA batteries (not included) into your buzzers. What we really appreciated was how quick the installation process was. The buzzers are already synced to the system, making it quite possible to start a game within just a minute or two of opening the box. When you want to jump into a party game, that kind of speed is quite important.

Deal of the Day: Get $5 off Buzz! Quiz TV at Best Buy
Don't be fooled by the image. Despite what it may look like, you can actually take advantage of that $5 coupon sent out in a recent PlayStation Underground newsletter and use it for Buzz! Quiz TV. Just follow this link to grab the coupon.
The offer is only good at Best Buy retail stores and will last from now until October 25. The offer does sound enticing if you've been slightly on the fence for awhile. Anyway, there's no need to rush. You've still got an entire month to think it over before the deal expires.

Buzz! Special Edition coming to Europe in November

So basically this is geared at families who may not have their PS3s hooked up to the PlayStation Network, as all of this content is downloadable via the PlayStation Store or via free automatic patches. The 1000 bonus questions are made up of two downloadable quiz packs: a National Geographic safari pack and a videogame pack, each containing 500 questions each. The videogames pack is not yet available on the PSN Store, but should hopefully be available by the time the Special Edition of Buzz! Quiz TV ships to retailers.

Sony launches MyBUZZ in U.S., includes prizes for best quizmaster
Though the next installment of Sony's trivia-tastic Buzz franchise, Buzz! Quiz TV is still a few weeks from release, the company recently launched a web component for the game for would-be American quiz crafters. Titled MyBuzz, the site allows users to create quizzes which can either be taken online, or in-game when Quiz TV hits U.S. store shelves Sept. 23. Users can also rate quizzes submitted by other community members -- Sony is offering a PSP-3000 and a copy of Buzz! Master Quiz for the user with the "Top Quiz", and a PS3/Quiz TV bundle for the "All Time Top Author". One caveat -- hiring a local bridge troll to write your noggin-scratchers for you will result in immediate disqualification.
Trophies: Buzz! Quiz TV
Our friends across the Atlantic are going to have an edge when it comes to Trophies, with the release of the new Buzz! Quiz TV Trophy patch. The multiplayer quiz game encourages you to play all the game modes to unlock the Trophies. Over time, it should be easy -- but what about those secret Trophies? Hmm.
Buzz! fans disappointed in PS3 outing
Ignore the already disheartening news that Buzz! Quiz TV will need a patch in order to activate trophies within the game, despite press releases announcing firmware 2.40 failing to mention it. Buzz! fans are now also up in arms about the evolution (or rather devolution) of one of their favorite franchises. Despite the official trailer showing off "Sofa-vs-Sofa" gameplay, allowing two people on one PS3 to play against another two people online, this feature is not actually available within the game. Playing online is restricted to one-person per console.
Not only that, but online play is considered very short and many game modes and customization features are now missing, having been removed since earlier Buzz! titles on the PS3. Also, despite MyBuzzQuiz.com being a potentially awesome method of creating and playing free user-generated DLC, questions from the service are not playable in the main-game and must be used separately. The forums are abuzz (pardon the pun) with criticisms and people are very much looking forward to a response from Relentless.

Deal: Buzz! Quiz TV for 32.98
Buzz! Quiz TV is almost out in Europe and, thanks to the 2.40 firmware update, you now have even more incentive to pick it up. The game supports trophies out of the box, according to the various 2.40 press releases, though we've checked our review copy and there don't seem to be any attached right now. No doubt this will be solved with a patch by the time the game is available this Friday. We've contacted Sony to try and confirm this.
If you're after Buzz! Quiz TV and don't quite feel like spending the price of a full game for it, Amazon UK have a pre-order price of £32.98. With the wireless buzzers themselves selling for 30 quid, you'll be picking up the game for less than 3 pounds. Not bad at all. Also, if you're an Amazon Prime member (or if you sign up for their one-month free trial) you can get it delivered to your door on Friday morning for no extra dosh. Bargain!

Worldwide PS3 releases for the week of June 29th

US Games
EU Games
- Buzz! Quiz TV (also available with buzzers)
- Ferrari Challenge
- Wall-E
Feel free to import any of the above titles (Initial D Extreme Stage even has an English-language manual version available), though we're not too sure what the situation is with Buzz! Quiz TV's DLC. You should be fine for free stuff (and there appears to be lots of it), but paid-for content will be a little trickier. Release dates are constantly subject to change, so make sure you check with your local retailer if you're worried.
MyBuzzQuiz.com lets you create DLC for a game that isn't even out yet
We know you're all super excited for Buzz! Quiz TV, right? Right. So no doubt you'll be even more excited about being able to create and view DLC for the game right now. MyBuzzQuiz.com is now open and lets you do just that. These quizzes can then be rated and played on-site, in preparation for Buzz! Quiz TV's European release next week (Americans can expect to get the game sometime this September) when you'll be able to download all this user-created content within the game properly.
We love to see new ways for user-created DLC to be incorporated into games and this is one of coolest implementations so far. There are already plenty of quizzes to check out on the site, so go have a look and maybe even have a go at making your own.
