Mytran Wars not canceled, coming soon

Publisher Deep Silver is planning on bringing Mytran Wars on PSP via UMD next month. When grilled about a downloadable release, the publisher couldn't confirm any plans to release the game on PlayStation Network. Our brief hands-on with the game revealed truly impressive production values, with fully-voiced comic book-styled cutscenes that really bring the world to life. The gameplay should be familiar to anyone that's played Advance Wars: it's classic turn-based strategy with fog of war. Unfortunately, the game moved very slowly, with animations taking much too time. Hopefully, the sluggish pace won't prove to be a game-breaker, when it finally launches on PSP next month.

Mytran Wars coming to US in 2009, new trailer released
Ready for some strategy action on your PSP? Good, because Mytran Wars may just fit the bill. A new trailer has been released for this PSP-exclusive game, and it's just super-exciting. Maybe it's the heart-thumping music -- or maybe it's because a game is actually coming out on our system (shock!). We're glad to see some support coming our way.
Check out some new screenshots in our gallery, and enjoy the trailer.
Update: Mytran Wars was originally supposed to come out in 2008. It has since been delayed to 2009.

It's not your tran, it's Mytran Wars for PSP
Perhaps they should reconsider that title ...
Mytran Wars is a PSP-exclusive cel-shaded strategy game from Budapest-based developer Stormregion. It's classic strategy fare set in the 23rd century, with humans and aliens at war over resources. It actually looks very good, and should (shock!) actually make it's way to the US.

Mytran Wars announced for PSP

Mytran Wars is a stark contrast from Stormregion's other works, primarily because the setting is in space and not their usual choice of WWII or the Cold War era. As for the actual story, the long-short of it goes: It's the 23rd century, and humans and aliens are at war over resources.
The game will feature a multiplayer mode. No other details were mentioned after that. So a price and date will remain in the far reaches of space for now.
